Weekly Wrap: Feb. 14
Will Vermont ban nudity? Will Substack ban Nazis? And join our all-new Discord! Lots happened this week on Planet Nude.
Welcome to this week’s Weekly Wrap! Nudity moved from personal expression to public debate as Vermont moves to ban all public nudity. Plus we published an open letter to Substack. We also launched the new Planet Nude Discord! Lousy timing, we know. But we’re excited that it opens up a fresh space for real-time conversation.
Will you be our Valentines? Circle yes or no at the bottom of this note. 💕

A new bill introduced by a Vermont lawmaker puts public nudity back into the legislative spotlight, signaling a potential shift in how the state approaches body freedom. The story outlines what the proposal would change, why it’s being brought forward now, and how it could impact naturists if the measure gains traction.
A direct and unfiltered message takes aim at platform policies as this open letter challenges Substack over issues affecting nude content and creator freedom. The piece lays out specific concerns, calls for clarity and fairness, and makes the case that body positive publishing should not be sidelined by vague enforcement or shifting standards.

Planet Nude expands beyond the page with the launch of its official Discord server, creating a new real time space for readers to connect, discuss, and build community. The announcement outlines what members can expect inside, how to join, and why this move opens the door to deeper conversations and more direct engagement across the naturist world.
Long before we formed opinions about public nudity or body freedom, we absorbed messages at home. Some of those messages were spoken outright. Others entered our consciousness like background music. For some of us, nudity was ordinary. For others, it was carefully hidden or never discussed at all. For more of us, those formative experiences tend to be hard to come undone.

The Naturist Vibe
For Black History Month, The Naturist Vibe honors Shirley Mason, the “Mother of Haulover Beach,” for her practical activism in securing safe, clothing-optional public spaces. Mason legitimized naturism by establishing strict community standards and navigating government bureaucracy, proving that true freedom requires organized structure rather than just protest.

A hard question cuts through the usual sun-drenched imagery of naturism by focusing on the bodies that rarely get featured, celebrated, or centered. The story examines who tends to be visible in nudist spaces and media, who gets overlooked, and why representation matters if naturism truly claims to be for every body.
That’s a wrap
