Planet Nude now has a Discord
An all-new satellite space for conversation beyond the newsletter
Over the past three years, Planet Nude has grown from a newsletter into something more social and participatory than was originally intended. It’s become a community of contributors and readers and supporters and friends that participate in comments and replies, shared links, corrections, disagreements, long personal emails, story ideas, and conversations that naturally spill onto other platforms. The newsletter and site do what they’re meant to do very well: they deliver journalism and give readers a place to respond. But they’re not designed for sustained, shared conversation between readers themselves.
So, to give those conversations more room to breathe, we’ve opened a Planet Nude Discord server.
What this space is
Planet Nude’s Discord is a community space for readers who want conversation alongside the publication. It’s a place to connect beyond the inbox, follow conversations over time, and interact not just with Planet Nude and our daily content, but with each other.
Free members have access to a bunch of active hangouts, including a live events room for sharing real-time experiences like sports, premieres, or awards shows, a work-from-home hangout with text chat and optional video, spaces to share art, photos, writing, and personal stories, and ongoing discussion around Planet Nude articles and podcasts.
Like Planet Nude itself, the Discord is free-first—there’s plenty to explore and enjoy without paying anything.
What Discord is (briefly)
If you’ve never used Discord, think of it as a shared online space made up of different rooms, each focused on a topic. Some are text-based, some are for sharing images or art, and some support live voice or video. You can explore at your own pace, jump into conversation, or simply read along. All of that is welcome.
You don’t need to be “good at Discord” to be here.
What this space is not
Planet Nude’s Discord is a nonsexual naturist space. It is not an adult content platform, a dating space, or a place for sexualized performance. While nudity is central to the conversation, it’s treated as context rather than spectacle.
Moderation is present, proportional, and focused on keeping the space respectful, welcoming, and human-scaled. And due to the nature of having nudity in online spaces, some rooms are necessarily 18+.
More value for existing supporters
For readers who already support Planet Nude, the Discord adds more value at the same level of support—no upgrade required. Your current paid subscription through Substack unlocks additional rooms like a member lounge, occasional office hours with me and select contributors, and other subscriber-only areas.
Sticker Club members receive an extra layer of access with exclusive Sticker Club–only rooms.

There are a few quick steps to accomplish like reading the rules before you may be considered a free member. Once you’re in, you’ll have immediate access to all of the free community channels and hangouts. If you’re already a paid supporter, you can link your account to unlock additional spaces.

Paid Planet Nude subscribers (Substack | $5.99/month)
If you already support Planet Nude through a paid Substack subscription, you can unlock paid-only Discord channels by verifying your account.

Discord Server Shop support ($3.99/month)
If you want the extra Discord access without a newsletter subscription, you can also now support Planet Nude directly through Discord’s Server Shop. This unlocks the same paid channels as a Substack subscription, without subscribing to the newsletter.

One last thing
In case you’re the nervous type, let us assuage your fears. Planet Nude is not changing and will still continue exactly as it does now. The newsletter remains our daily priority and focus, and remains free. The Discord is merely an expansion of the Planet Nude-iverse. But it is entirely optional, of course. Hi Evan. Maybe it's me, but I'm caught in an endless captcha loop, trying to create an account. Seems to be a bug. I'm pretty sure I'm dragging the correct image. And I really am human. A mildly frustrated human 😉.
This is unfortunately timed, considering that Discord is now requiring ID age verification next month. I don't trust this platform, and neither should nudists who respect their privacy.
