Do you feel different when you're nude?
In this #UndressedThread, let’s explore identity, embodiment, and how nudity can shift the way we move through the world
There’s something about being nude that changes the terms of any experience. The body unfettered by fabric or fashion can move through space (and through self) differently. Nudity can change how we are present, how we carry ourselves and inhabit space, how we relate to others.
In this week’s #UndressedThread, we’re asking:
Do you feel something shift when you're nude?
Is it physical, emotional, relational? Or something else entirely?
Let’s talk about it. 🪐

Give the DoorDash guy a little warning.

I feel completely myself when naked in the natural world. It feels like stripping away all pretense and just being me without disguise.
I believe I feel an emotional shift when nude. For one, certain chores that would otherwise feel draining or tiresome do not seem so when done nude. I also feel like it shifts how my eyes/brain experience the world. There are days/seasons when it is more challenging to find nude time, but when I find I have regular opportunities to be nude I feel more balanced. My hunch is that there is something physiological going on. I think this is also connected to the many distractions of our modern world. Being nude has a focusing effect on me during yoga or meditation and in moving about my day nude I'm less likely to be attached to my phone (no pockets to hold it!). I think that's why I chose "grounded."
