What’s your entry point?
In this #UndressedThread, we’re talking about first steps—and how people find their way to nudity.
Nude Recreation Week is all about inviting new people to try nudity in safe, joyful, body-positive ways. That’s why Skinny Dip Day can be such a powerful idea—it’s simple, silly, low-pressure. But not everyone starts with a skinny dip. Some come in through art, meditation, or activism. Others are raised in it.
In this week’s #UndressedThread, we’re asking:
How did you first experience social nudity—or what made you curious?
What made it easier for you to say yes?
Share your story in the comments. 🪐

Pre-teen back in the late 1940's early 50's. Hank's place the local ice cream, beer, barber shop, service station and barber shop had nudist magazine's on the upper sale rack. Cover photos showed people obviously enjoying naked sport and outings. Made me want to join in with more than just the boys in the shower room at school! So many were lovely women on the covers that I went through a one summer stretch of dressing in my mom's undies and tucking as a preteen, I guess I just wanted to be lovely and smooth too.
I always enjoyed being nude. With my gf at the time and when we were married I would spend as much time at home nude as possible. Thought I was an exhibitionist. Then we went to the nudist beach thinking it would be exciting. I’m not an exhibitionist. I am just a naturist. The feeling we both had, the grounding the peace we felt. It was unmatched. It felt incredibly humbling and connecting at the same time. I was not sexually excited about it either. It was just a feeling of this feels right and it feels like caring for my body and health.
So now I am a naturist.
