What does freedom feel like right now?
In this #UndressedThread—timed for July 4th—we’re exploring what freedom means in a divided world
It’s Independence Week in the U.S., but with recent protests, war, regressive court rulings, legislative division, and political violence swirling, patriotism feels… complicated. But, for naturists and body freedom advocates, words like ‘independence’ and ‘freedom’ can hold personal and profound meaning; it can be about reclaiming shame, standing in autonomy, or resisting pressure to conform.
In this week’s #UndressedThread, we’re asking:
When have you felt truly independent—in body or life—even as the country feels on edge?
Has nudity ever helped you reclaim a sense of autonomy or resistance?
What small acts—naked or not—help you stay free in uncertain times?
If you’re in the U.S., will you be observing Independence Day this year? If so, how?

Probably not celebrating. It’s just too fucked up here in the US. As for the independence via nudity - I can only wish.
