It’s that charming time of year when I don my virtual busker’s cap and humbly shake the can for your support. As much as I wish this could involve an actual dance number on a sunny street corner, I’ll stick to what I know best—droning on about the growth of our newsletter and bragging about some of the enriching content and unique perspectives we’ve been exploring here. Hopefully, by the end, you’ll see why supporting Planet Nude with a paid subscription adds value to your week and to naturism at large.
Adding value
At Planet Nude we have a guiding principle: “add value.” No kidding. You can check out our content guide yourself if you want. This motto underpins every aspect of our ethos. We strive to add value by illuminating the diverse roles of nudity and enriching our readers’ understanding and appreciation of this culture.
Since Planet Nude first launched sixteen months ago, we’ve sought to add value by expanding our offerings. Our slate has grown substantially just since our last update of this sort back in November. We’ve built on our original podcasts Naked Age, New Nudist Podcast, and Planet Nude Pod with new episodes, and added new contributor titles to our regular rotation. We also added a new weekly update called Weekly Wrap, and our monthly News of the Nude editions now include a “Top Five” video. Most recently, we launched our webcomics initiative Strips, and saw an explosion of support around that. People love comics! Go figure.

Moreover, we’ve forged an impactful partnership with our new anchor sponsors, the Naturist Action Committee and Naturist Education Foundation, enhancing the resources and legitimacy of our reporting and analysis. This collaboration aligns with our dedication to providing depth and accuracy in our content.
I believe our work adds a tangible value to the naturist community. It provides vital context and understanding for both seasoned naturists and newcomers interested in body freedom and nude rights. We shed light on the real-world challenges naturists face in North America and beyond. We’ve developed a platform that fosters discussion and community engagement.
Why your support matters: A case study
I want to outline just one compelling example of why your support matters by reflecting on what happened last year in the state of Wisconsin, and how Planet Nude added value to the community by reporting on it closely.
What happened in Wisconsin
Last July, when a county supervisor first raised a stink with the local Police and the Dane County Sheriff’s office over the presence of a child at the recent World Naked Bike Ride in Madison, we first flagged the story and shared it in our News of the Nude that month.
In September, when the story elevated to the point that two Republican US Congressmen sent an open letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, calling upon him to investigate the “exploitation of a 10-year-old minor,” over the incident we knew this was a story that had to be tracked.
A few weeks later, on the very day that news broke of Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate circulating a memorandum to garner support for an anti-nudity bill, Planet Nude published a detailed and updated report on the situation that had been in the works for weeks, including an exclusive interview with the mother of the child at the center of the original controversy. When the bills were officially introduced, we reported it first. Yes, first. Before the local papers.
For several months as the bills were introduced and debated, we followed this story closely, in regular contact with the folks on the ground in Madison who were organizing a public response to the overreaching legislation, reporting on the bills as they progressed.
We in many ways, we led the opposition effort against the bills. We created a resource guide for contacting local representatives, complete with template letters and the #KeepBodiesFree hashtag. We partnered with the Naturist Action Committee to signal-boost their Action Alerts. We organized a petition to gather signatures and garner support in opposition of the bills, ultimately getting over 1,000 signatures.
And at the end of the legislative session this Spring, we were the first to report, with a tentative sigh of relief, that the threat of the bills passage was effectively neutralized.
This is something naturist newsletters, magazines, and pamphlets have done since the beginning of the movement. They act as an “organ” for people to connect with each other and, as a community, organize. This is just one way that Planet Nude adds value.
All of this work is driven by our passion for naturism. We are deeply grateful to our current supporters who have made it possible for Planet Nude to compensate contributing writers and artists, which is our policy. Yes, everyone who writes or makes comics for Planet Nude gets paid.1
However, it’s important to note that our platform is a full-time, voluntary labor of love. We pay the artists and creative who contribute, but this newsletter does not provide primary income for anyone involved, including myself. Our ongoing aspiration is to achieve this financial sustainability to ensure the continuity of this essential mission. By becoming a paid supporter, you can help us achieve this goal.
Gauging the metrics
With all of the recent value adds, our community has also shown phenomenal growth in a short time: We’re up to 5,000 free subscribers and over 300 paid subscribers. We saw an increase in average weekly views from 15,000 per week in November to over 31,000 per week in April. Our best week yet saw over 50,000 views in just one week.
Overall, we’ve shared more than 450 posts, which, combined, have been viewed over 1.3 million times, and we have subscribers in every US state and 103 different countries across the globe. Our podcasts, in aggregate, have also been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times across various platforms, including Spotify and YouTube.
This growth is not just in numbers but in the depth and breadth of our engagement with the naturist philosophy. We’ve shared more posts, covering a wider variety of topics, and in more original formats—encompassing thoughtful essays, investigative histories, podcast episodes, media reviews, and webcomics—than any other online naturist platform by a long shot. Planet Nude’s influence is undeniable.
Talk about adding value.
Hearing from you
Another tangible example of the value we’re adding is the comments we get from our readers. We recently conducted a reader poll (thank you for your responses), and we were overwhelmed by the supportive messages we received. Here are just a few that made us blush.

Your responses show we’re really building something special here. Planet Nude isn't just a newsletter—it’s a dynamic community fueled by the stories we share and the discussions we ignite.
Like I said before, I love hearing from readers. If you have feedback for Planet Nude, I would appreciate hearing it. You can take our survey here, or send me a message directly by clicking below.
What’s on the horizon?
We have a bunch of fun stuff planned on the horizon. Of course, we will continue what we’ve started here on Planet Nude. We are adding new artists and titles to Strips. We have multiple new episodes of Naked Age and New Nudist Podcast in the works. We are tracking stories in the world of naturism, some that are on the brink of becoming newsworthy, and when they are, we will be the first to report them. We have all sorts of new ideas in development, including sponsoring events and supporting charities. Our goal is to keep fostering a vibrant and engaged community.

Some folks generously defer their fees, either to support Planet Nude or to a charity of their choice. But, as a policy, everyone who contributes an original work to Planet Nude is offered compensation.
Successful propaganda of naturism is impossible without developing the ideology of naturism and the philosophical foundations of this movement. Scientific understanding of the benefits and importance of naturism for the entire population of the planet, and not only for naturists themselves, is very important and can give a powerful impetus to the development of naturism.
