Mountains, please
In this evocative article, sustainability scientist Kane Stanton explores the profound connection between nudity and mountains, tracing the allure of naked mountaineering across history and culture. From ancient sacrifices to modern ascents, Stanton contemplates why, at the summit, shedding clothes often feels essential. This journey through personal and historical accounts, including legendary climbs by George Mallory, considers how nudity on mountains symbolizes freedom, resilience, and a return to nature—while also noting the cultural sensitivities surrounding these acts.
What scares people most about nudity?
This week’s #UndressedThread delves into why nudity can feel unsettling, both in horror films and everyday life. By examining iconic film scenes like those in Psycho and The Shining, this discussion explores how nudity is used to evoke vulnerability and discomfort. Socially, fears around nudity may stem from body image concerns, fear of judgment, or societal taboos. Readers are invited to share their thoughts on how we might overcome these fears and foster comfort with body freedom.

Women in Focus with Lins of Naked Wanderings
In this episode of Women in Focus, I had the pleasure of chatting with Lins, co-founder of Naked Wanderings alongside her partner, Nick. Eight years ago, they started Naked Wanderings with a mission to bring a fresh, relatable perspective to naturism, especially for younger audiences. Lins believes that much of the online naturist content out there feels like it’s created for an older generation, and she wanted to change that. Together, Lins and Nick have become the naked voice of a generation, traveling the world and capturing the true essence of naturism through their blogs and videos.
