It’s the 100th-ever episode of Greyfriar’s Isle, and to celebrate it… here’s a regular episode that continues the plot and doesn't even have any nudity!
In this episode, we’re reunited with the members of the slam death metal band Festering Suppuration, who are up to something. Festering Suppuration first turned up in the Dunestock storyline, but Gail, their youngest, only female, and most normal band member, appeared with Roy in the previous pages where she took the inaugural outdoor nude tour. I'll save the story of how I came to create a fictional band in an obscure subgenre of death metal for my own newsletter; let’s just say that a similar band has helped me not lose my mind in difficult circumstances in the past and that I deeply appreciate that even though currently I don't listen to any kind of death metal much.
Greyfriar’s Isle
By
Greyfriar’s Isle is a comic about an island and the people who live there. A small family runs Marsh Light, a naturist campsite connected to the beach where locals and tourists spend their vacation time. The island is historically friendly to naturism, but not universally so. Also, there are ghosts and strange, eldritch island customs.
Greyfriar’s Isle is inspired by the comics I read in my youth, by the real-world island experiences I had in my youth, my ideas about what naturism should be and the stories naturists tell each other about themselves.
New episodes come out on the first and third Wednesday of every month! 🪐

I wrote a little more about Festering Suppuration, the semi-famous slam death metal band from the northern Netherlands, here: https://reinderdijkhuis.substack.com/p/rogues-of-clwyd-rhan-page-for-february-2a4
At some point I also wrote an in-universe biography for them, but I don't remember where, if anywhere, I posted it.
