The Wraiths of the Adamites first turned up in The Wraiths of The Adamites, part of the Dunestock storyline. Eric, Fatou and Cynthia were all present, but only Mycelia twigged that some of the ghostly apparitions in the cemetery were her direct ancestors. In that storyline, she estimates that the Adamites had been dead for a thousand years; evidently she has since done a refresher on the island's history.
And yes, they are bound to the soil, because there's not enough left of them to animate. This may seem horrifying but so far the Wraiths have been OK with it. It's very restful in the cemetery, most of the time.
Greyfriar’s Isle
By
Greyfriar’s Isle is a comic about an island and the people who live there. A small family runs Marsh Light, a naturist campsite connected to the beach where locals and tourists spend their vacation time. The island is historically friendly to naturism, but not universally so. Also, there are ghosts and strange, eldritch island customs.
Greyfriar’s Isle is inspired by the comics I read in my youth, by the real-world island experiences I had in my youth, my ideas about what naturism should be and the stories naturists tell each other about themselves.
New episodes come out on the first and third Wednesday of every month! 🪐
