New Year’s is here, and for me, it's always a time for reflection and setting intentions. Of course, not everyone is the New Year’s resolution type. After all, as the argument sometimes goes, how committed to change could you really be if you need an arbitrary holiday just to drum up the inspiration?
I don’t know why, but I’ve always made resolutions around this time of year, and since becoming a naturist, they’ve increasingly involved nude goals. For me, it's about embracing new experiences and personal growth in my enjoyment of naturism. Last year, my resolution was to write daily. This newsletter is the result of that goal.
In the spirit of sharing, this year I’m going a little smaller, but hoping for two personal firsts. 1) I’d love to join a group nude hike (so far, all my hikes have been solo or with my wonderful wife). 2) I would love to have a naked camping adventure (I grew up camping and haven’t been in years). These are small, fairly achievable goals, but I admit I haven’t made any attempt to plan for either of these experiences yet. Goals and plans are different things.
Anyway, in this week's #UndressedThread, I invite you to share your nudist aspirations for the year ahead. Share your goals, your hopes, or your plans if you have them.
What’s your Nude Year’s Resolution?
Are you planning any first-time naturist experiences or setting any specific goals in your journey of naturism for 2024?

I think I read it on a tourism blog. Sounds like a relaxing place. I do not have a problem with male arousal. It's normal. People demonize male sexuality while protecting female sexuality, it seems.
I’m a Glen Eden member and always looking out for SoCal hiking. I still have not been out to Black’s Beach, it’s been on my list a long time. I love about 50 min north of GE, so Black’s is a longer drive for me… but I’m determined to visit sometime! A new resolution for 2024!
I’ve been a non resident gold seal member for almost four years. I always want to engage in sports there but admittedly never do. Most of my time there gets spent in the Western Nudist Research Library, where I volunteer. It’s very conflicting to be somewhere so beautiful with so much sunshine and spend so much time indoors with books, I’ll admit. But the library has a strong allure for me. Have you ever visited?
Glen Eden is a beatuiful resort. Thier policy excludes former family members who are now siongle widowers. This is a very disappointing situatioin. Maybe other resorts are more friendly.

I hold a superstition that, in order to ensure that I'll be naked a lot in the year ahead, I must be nude at the stroke of midnight to ring in the year. As in the past, I intend to start 2024 right by participating in the New Year's Day Plunge at Ocean Beach in San Francisco; it's not officially a nude event, but there's always a nudie contingent and I've never experienced any negativity from textile participants. in 2021, I even made it into the newspaper: https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Pandemic-doesn-t-stop-the-New-Year-s-Day-15840522.php
I’ve thought of doing a nude canoe trip along the Colorado river near Lake Mead (very close to where I’m from), which is something that naturist groups do in the summer times. Sounds fun!
That sounds like a great idea, I currently live near Vermont so naked hiking and kayaking is definitely an option but spending a week hiking and canoeing naked would be a great nakation. 😎
I have stopped doing such resolutions. Usually, life unfolds in another way, or gets in the way. I would rather grab each opportunity as it comes, and that's hard to stick in a resolution. Unless that is a resolution, but it would make for a VERY generic one. ;-)
Mine is a continuing resolution. To keep enjoying life more. Naked is not a priority, but high on the list when possible.
Living in north San diego County, there are several non landed groups that join together for events to include hiking, water spots, and camping. All family oriented. (Hikes are better when there is water at the turning point.)
I don’t know if it’s a resolution or just a goal for 2024, but I want to participate in the WNBR in Burlington VT. I also want to do more naked hiking and be a nude model.
Well over 30 years ago I made a resolution and I am proud to say I have kept it all these years. I resolved I would never again made a dumb resolution I know I can't keep.
Like a few of the folks here, I tend not to do resolutions, but since you mentioned hiking I couldn’t resist offering a suggestion. I joined the ranks of social nudity just a few years ago (suspiciously enough in January, around resolution time) and wanted nude hiking to be my thing. About a year into my journey someone mentioned me the NEWT (Naked European Walking Tour). I reached out to the organizers and less than two years into my social nudity journey found myself in Austria with a great group of people hiking and living nude for a week. If you have the time (and a very understanding significant other) it may be a great way to reach that naked hiking resolution! Good luck and happy hiking 🥾
I’ll work on that. In the meantime, we have a growing selection of reviews on this link, with another one coming next week! I think you would enjoy “Running Around Naked” by Jelaine Lombardi
I don't do NY resolutions. If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
I have a few goals but they are all subject to continued mobility and health, something that has been less certain every year. More nude hiking, maybe even some camping, Bay to Breakers, Naked Bike Ride, and so on. Everything is tentative because I could wake up on any given day and be a cripple.
To move full time into our Glen Eden Sun Club site, get our San Diego home sold, enjoy our nudist lives and the wonderful people at the club. New Years Eve night we will be nude, but also sound asleep. For our ages that is normal.
I failed to keep my resolution for 2023 by not posting a Full Frontal Friday photo. Yes, it’s a “thing.” Wise observations from you and others led me to continue to keep my own pace and consider the unfortunate risks in certain professions. I have a better and easier goal which I can ascribe to you and Linda Weber: do something for all of us! I have already increased my support for the Western Nudist Research Library and
Your support for these things is practically unmatched! You’re an important part of these projects! I can’t thank you enough for your support of Planet Nude.
My resolution for next year is to try and fully embrace the style of naturism I grew up with. I finally in the right position to revive my families old practices. I am looking very forward to next year and all the ups and downs it will bring.
I don’t really do resolutions, other than just trying to get more nude time compared to the year before. If there is one, it will be this one. My wife and I are relatively new to the naturist environment (few years now) and we’re loving every minute of it. Being in Europe, we are lucky to have lot’s of spa resorts which are mostly mandatory nude; last year we went to a family naturist park in Italy, which is what we will definitely do again in 2024 ... but a few weeks longer :-)
Not sure what part of the country you're in, but if you're in New England or upstate New York, you might want to consider Knight Island State Park in Vermont. Almost the entire small island is clothing optional and most campsites have a small private beach. It's a commitment, though. It's primitive camping, so you have to bring everything and the only way to or from the island is by boat, so you have to arrange transportation. If you like peaceful seclusion in a beautiful setting, though, you'll love it.
Vermont keeps its existence on the down-low. It doesn't appear in the list of parks on the Vermont State Parks website, but if you google it, the page will come up. It was once a private island and then the family that owned it turned it into a clothing optional campground. Finally, the family donated it to the state of Vermont to use as a park, with the proviso that it remain clothing optional. They also have a few acres on the island for their own use. It's definitely worth a visit if you like primitive camping.
As I said, the website doesn't mention nudity, but if you call the Vermont State Parks reservation number, they will happily confirm that the entire island is clothing optional except for the ranger station and, of course, the private 10 acres which is off-limits.
I understand that Blacks Beach allows sex? Is that true?
I think I read it on a tourism blog. Sounds like a relaxing place. I do not have a problem with male arousal. It's normal. People demonize male sexuality while protecting female sexuality, it seems.
Sounds worth the effort.
Don't mind there are more men. I am intrigued by sexuality. It is a spectrum.
Sounds like I would be in good company.
I've hiked up to the Hollywood sign before. I would like to try this!

Glen Eden doesn't accept widowed former members.

Blacks beach and Glen Eden are on my to do list next time I’m in Southern California
My experience strongly suggests that a single male won' get in the gate!
My coments are based on a phone inquiry about rejoining the club.
Nude hiking is always fun, typically we have 4-12 people so if youre ever in Oregon hit me up
Neat! Whereabouts in Oregon? I’d love to make a trip up there for hiking sometime
Oh yes, been there many times. I love hiking there. You may have read about that here… https://www.planetnude.co/p/olive-dell-ranch-listed-for-sale
We roam all over the place, but Salem is a central area. We are looking at renting a house on the coast for June 21 ish if that appeals to you ;)

I want to join!
Then get your ass (and the rest of you) to SF. Our sofa bed awaits you.
I’d like that.
Most of the time it's frozen here, but I think this year it's warm enough for me to jump in, too! Meet you there in spirit.
I try to do the midnight thing as well.
Is it an old rendition for you?
If I’m home, it’s been something I do over the last 15 years or so. Haven’t met friends who would welcome it yet.
Definitely, I've done a nude camp but I would live to do amultiday hiking trip in the nude. Maybe even a nude canoe trip.

Great tip! Thanks!
I would like to do more reading. Audiobooks likely. So I'll add some naturist/nudist books onto the list. Open to recommendations! 😊
What a great idea for a future post!
Yes!

It's not Knight Point State Park. Here's a link to the website for the island: https://www.vtstateparks.com/knightisland.html
