Don't forget the Belgian A rated film "De Patrick". A film about loss and grieve, in a naturist setting. The main character is looking for his hammer, which is a metafore for loss.
a nice & brisk review of naturism references in fiction. However apart from Mark Twain, it seems that other main stream literary names are not considered. Of course, I don't know exactly as to whether main stream writers have promoted naturism through their literature.
Thanks for your comment. In general, naturism doesn’t have a lot of representation in mainstream literature. However, Kipling, Burroughs, Twain, García Márquez, Heinlein, Farmer, Ball and Anthony are all mainstream writers in the sense that their work was published by big-name publishers and therefore widely available in the pre-Internet era.
I went to read one of their stories the other day and they were not there anymore and the username didn’t exist and they’ve disappeared from twitter too.
Robert Heinlein uses social nudity also in other works, not just "Stranger in a Strange Land" (which is how I feel about living where I am 😀...). Example: Starship Troopers, which also saw the nudity used in its rebellious satirical movie adaptation.
I guess I'm telling my age when I say that your article got my attention by starting out with the Jungle Books, Tarzan, and A Princess of Mars, all early favorites of mine. The information you provided is so valuable and for me it was like having a new reading list. I'm now looking forward to reading many of the works you highlighted. Thanks

Lovely film. This article is more focused on fiction literature, but I think another one is in order which looks at theatre and film!

Very Correct. I entirely agree.

Their stories have disappeared? Thanks
Wow - no, I don’t know what’s happened with that person and their stories.
I went to read one of their stories the other day and they were not there anymore and the username didn’t exist and they’ve disappeared from twitter too.
Thanks for answering though.
I was reading my way through Shoes Socks' wonderful short stories when suddenly the whole blog disappeared one day! :(
It's gone. Utterly, sadly gone.

Terrific! Glad to help. I read The Jungle Book and its sequel when I was young - definitely formative for me, too.
