Exploring the spaces where we embrace nudity opens up a fascinating window into the diverse experiences within our community. Whether it's the privacy of our homes, the openness of a beach, the seclusion of a nature trail, the camaraderie of a nudist resort, or somewhere entirely unconventional, each setting offers a unique way to experience and enjoy nudity. The choice of where to be nude reflects personal comfort levels, cultural backgrounds, even spiritual beliefs. It might be more social for some, and more personal for others. Yet, at the heart of these choices is the pursuit of a freedom that transcends the mere act of shedding clothes—it’s about authenticity, connection to ourselves and to nature, and a profound sense of liberation.
Like John, I would have liked to have said "All of the above": I get naked at home (duh); but also I've spent a lot of time naked at various resorts and events around the country, and at beaches whenever I can find them. So the poll is accurate, sort of, but really doesn't approach the gamut of my naked-getting activity.
I would have selected "other" as my reply had that been an option. The majority of my naked time is spent at home, at the homes of friends, on beaches, and at events (some of which are not inherently for nudists, but where nudity is accepted or tolerated). I also model nude.
All the above for me too, for simple reasons. I am always a nudist and have been since childhood. I spend more time at home than I do out ont he trails though I hike nude quite frequently. I kayak naked in local rivers and streams as weather permits and I frequently go to my favorite beaches and resorts whenever my work schedule permits. I turned officially "Elderly" last summer, spending my 65th borthday at Spiaggia Di Pizzo Grecco nudist resort and beach in Italy....I ahve already pre-paid my 66th borthday week at The Natural Curacao for the last week of May. To answer the poll, my answer would go with what I have the most opportunity to do and that is my Sundeck, Gardens and Hot Tub Gazebo at home.
As much as I love being naked, being naked with other like-minded people, outside, enhances the sensuality, spirituality, and the closeness to nature that comes with being nude.
Unfortunately, strictly in my apartment and away from windows! In the winter the temperature in the apartment is too cool to be nude, but in the summer I sometimes stay nude for several hours. When I exercise (not as much as I should!!!) I am always nude, but that is only half an hour. Occasionally, if I am feeling really daring, and it looks like the coast is clear, I will quickly step out on the porch to get my newspaper. Oh how nice it would be to not have to hide my body!!!
I do love outdoors where allowed or in private and secluded lakes. Here in Nova Scotia we have many opportunities to do so. Of course, I work from home so everyday I am nude unless we have company with textile friends.
We like to be nude whenever and wherever we can but because of where we live we don't have enough options. We are nude in our private pool and enjoy sharing it with others.
My nirvana is outdoors, active, and naked. Any combination is better than none, but all three is best. And hiking fits that perfectly. I carry a kilt which is use if encountering people who might be offended.
The first three, in exactly the same order, almost always nude. Not too keen on resorts, at least not the ones I have been to. To me nothing beats a beach for nudity outdoors!
There is a bucket list approach of places and activities that many nudists seem to gravitate towards.
The beach, a hike, and a resort are certainly popular options, but the list grows with skiing, kayaking, snorkeling, biking, paragliding, fun runs, parades, bowling, target-shooting, and every imaginable team sport. The passion to do the next ‘thing’ nude drives many in the nudist community.
All the time at home and out hiking every week when it's dry and sunny, I have several place's around me mainly woods and forest/open heathland. I love it reduces my stress and gives me freedom from the world we live in.
A fully functioning naturist resort provides access to all the other events, including a second home if you’re lucky enough. For me, Euronat is a home from home with fabulous beaches, trails in the woods, restaurants and all the sports you can manage, all au naturel.
I agree with John, all of the above was not an option. We enjoy going naked whenever and wherever we can. We are currently planning a road trip and are going to make stops at a couple resorts on the way.
After decades in Alaska being naked at home daily during research and writing was possible and enhanced by having like-minded friends over to sauna, meditate, pot-luck, as well as picnic and sun in our enclosed back-yard. Now in California the opportunities are more broad and taken advantage of whenever possible. Social nakedness is a lifestyle to be enjoyed with others at every opportunity.
I also agree with the others, all of the above should have been an option. I’m nude at home around 16 hours of every day. That includes my back yard and garden. At least once a week I hike nude on a national park trail that is near my home. I like to spend a week at clothing optional resorts like Shangri La Ranch at least twice a year. I like to explore all the nude friendly options near the resorts during the week. Whenever my travels take me near a nude beach I try to spend at least a few hours there. I would love to have a home in a clothing optional community where I could be nude 24 hours a day in and out of the house and around the neighborhood.
I am happiest and most centered in the midst of other naked people at the resort where my wife and I are members. I love the shared spirit of freedom and bonding that social nudity creates. Yet I do find joy and release at any of the places listed.
The Questions were: Where do you prefer to embrace your nudity?
What does your preferred nudist setting say about your personal philosophy on nudity?
I prefer the outdoors in nature to be nude, that is where I truly embrace the freedom of nudity. The sun can touch all of me, the breeze is allover, and my bits are allowed to swing freely.
I have always loved the out of doors. I have never been to good at philosophy, not sure I have one. I personally enjoy being in my own skin. Yet, I do not feel comfortable imposing that on others who do not want that.
It gets expensive in daily fees to be free and naked.
Backyards, beaches, resorts and more would be nice, but here in ultra liberal Los Angeles, their conservative side comes out. That's especially true at the beaches, which were once clothing optional but now illegal.
I would say I also like the nude beach as much as the resorts. I like the socialization aspect. I would love to nude more at home but own two labs who are a little to curious for that.
all of those. I really cannot choose. The least challenging is of course at home , then the beach is not too challenging, a cafe or restaurant that is a step up and a discotheque is another step up. But the people already there make it easier. But I remember the step from beach to restaurant as distinctive. (that was Vera Playa). The discotheque was a challenge, that was St Martin island. Trails in nature is a lot easier again and very natural. In Spain there are huge trails in the interior. But I believe in California it is also no problem although not officially legal.
My favorite is hiking a trail out in the woods. But under the Other option, I would add "Out in public". I like to push the boundaries of where you can be naked by participating in events like World Naked Bike Rides and running nude in Bay to Breakers in San Francisco.
Unfortunately, the last four decades, ended up in the "South" with very limited places for being nude (naked!). Did live and participate with two different groups (communes) where nakedness was accepted and the norm. This was in the late 1960s interrupted with service in the military. When came back "home" the social environment changed for the worse.
Anywhere and everywhere possible. I just hate wearing clothes, which I will do only when necessary or required. I enjoy nude social activities, such as bowling nude with a local nudist club (although I suck at bowling). My favorite activity, though, is connecting with nature in my natural state in a nearby forest.
I actually prefer to be nude at ALL the choices. My favorite of all is out on the Chesapeake Bay aboard my sailing ketch with my also very naked wife, the “Admiral!”
Yes, "All of the Above' would have fit my life's journey as well. I must add...it is always a struggle at one level or another. Unfortunately, there is not enough political and/or societal will to address our shared concerns as Naturists.
I put beach, as that really is my preferred choice. Beaching is as much a lifestyle for me as nudism, but I do tend to prefer it inore secluded areas or away from crowds. Even if I'm forced to be 'swim shorted'. However, I do get nude anywhere I can possibly get away with it.
Same here. In Nova Scotia Canada here we have a lot of beaches that are not used by many. So going nude is something that is not a problem for me unless there are others on the beach
All of the above wasn’t an option!

Outside on our Farm

I prefer nudism in a social environment. However, since I must be the only nudist in town, I do it mostly at home.
Indian Hills nudist club where I've been a member for four years now. Also have been to a nude beach in California.
When among other nudest, it's as if my body is invisible and my personality is free to express itself.
I live in a nudist community so at home, around the property and anywhere else I can be nude is my answer.
All the above for me too, for simple reasons. I am always a nudist and have been since childhood. I spend more time at home than I do out ont he trails though I hike nude quite frequently. totally agree-ALL OF THE ABOVE
All of the above as often as possible!

You must have a good heating system and insulation.
Summers can be quite hot. As for the house, we have good heating.
Our house was built in 1950 or 1960. I'm unable to find out for certain. It's a sieve.
Our house was built in 1974. We had it reinsulated when we bought it 24 years ago.
always at home or in my yard which is private. anywhere where I can be nude.
walking in the woods at a nude resort is my happy place : )
We like to be nude whenever and wherever we can but because of where we live we don't have enough options. We are nude in our private pool and enjoy sharing it with others.
At home, at a club and at a clothing-optional beach. This should be multiple choice.
My nirvana is outdoors, active, and naked. Any combination is better than none, but all three is best. And hiking fits that perfectly. I carry a kilt which is use if encountering people who might be offended.

My wife and I enjoy nudity in several locations, nude resorts, beaches, with friends at their home and at our home and our other property.
I am hoping to expand this to include nature hiking as we are now Pre-tired.
We enjoy being nude all day on our deck and trails. Also a great way to entertain like minded friends.

The highest percentage of my nude time is at home, however, my favorite “place” to me nude is while out in nature, preferably on a hiking trail.
I agree with John, all of the above was not an option. We are naked whenever and wherever possible.
Echoing the "all of the above" comments, though in terms of time spent, "at home" wins hands down.

I enjoy being Nude. I choose while hiking or in nature. Seems that is when the sun and breeze best flow over my body and skin.
I love my home time, I am waiting for much warmer weather. Would love to try naked gardening this year.
Would love a beach, I was planning on Fire Island, but hear the National Seashore no longer allows nudity.
I am happiest and most centered in the midst of other naked people at the resort where my wife and I are members. I love the shared spirit of freedom and bonding that social nudity creates. Yet I do find joy and release at any of the places listed.
Already commented once, but I am back.

I *prefer* a club/resort setting but most of my nude time is at home.
all of those. I really cannot choose. The least challenging is of course at home , then the beach is not too challenging, a cafe or restaurant that is a step up and a discotheque is another step up. I’m new to this lifestyle and i like to meet other people
I like to be nude in ad around home.

I would have said all of the above as well.
Love being outside and being nude on my balcony. Also enjoy swimming at the beach or pool without the swimsuit

At home and hiking. Not a fan of resorts or beaches (personal preference)
