Nudism is full of unique and unforgettable moments that stay with us long after they happen. Whether it was your first time trying social nudity, a special connection made with others, or a moment of pure freedom and joy, these experiences shape our journey as naturists. In this #UndressedThread, let’s share our most memorable nudist experiences. Whether funny, profound, or heartwarming, your stories can inspire and resonate with others in the community.
What’s the most memorable nudist experience you’ve had? What made it stand out?
How has this experience influenced your perspective on nudism?
My wife was extremely nervous. I was a little nervous. We were going to a nude beach for the first time being nude in a public place. When we got there she was the first one undressed. 😂
My experience at any nudist event I was at; that, even the shyest 1st-timers there -- the last thing they wanted to do, is to have to put their clothes back on when the event is over.
First time at a nudist resort. (Cypress Cove) My wife and I always skinny dip in our pool and I managed to talk her into going to a nude beach. Since I was on a roll I talked her into making reservations at the Cove and will never forget that experience of getting up in the morning, having coffee nude on the patio, and visiting with all the beautiful people around the pool and other activities. I never felt so free and relaxed as long as I can remember.
Any moments that I can share with my family are the most memorable for me. Going to Turtle Lake Resort here in Michigan with the family and sharing that first-time experience together was fantastic. I'll never forget playing putt-putt, swimming, and enjoying the lake that day with them.
My favorite nudist experience was the first time I had Little Beach on Maui all to myself. I spent about an hour in the early morning alone on that beach before anyone showed up. My first time there was very crowded so this was pretty sweet.
When I visited Desert Sun Resort to check out Palm Springs as a possible place to live while on my way to meet my future husband at LAX for the first time (I didn’t know the future husband part at the time.) I discovered there was a nudist community with condominiums for sale affiliated with the resort. A month later I became a full time nudist living in Palm Springs. That was 8 years ago.
My most memorable moment was when my wife and I got married in Jamaica. We spent several days ahead of our wedding day at a nude resort in Ocho Rios. I remember spending the entire day on the beach with my fiancée relaxing and holding each other in the mild surf, soul to soul. Late afternoon, our house maid came to get my wife to get her ready for the beach ceremony. We were both dressed for the wedding… but, shortly afterwards we were frolicking on the beach clothes free and happy!!
We got married in Jamaica too. Place called grand lido braco. It was our first nude beach experience before and after the wedding. Got dressed for the wedding ceremony and then back to the nude beach for the rest of the week. Met Wonderful couples there too
My most memorable nude experience was taking a nude raft trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. It was a 8 day first class all inclusive fun and adventure filled experience my wife and I will always remember. We tell people about it all the time.
weight loss counselor asked what I would like to do when I hit my weight goal. No idea- threw out "feel comfortable at a nudist "colony." Nearest was 60 miles away. Almost turned around to go home 5 times. Took tour. Still panicky. Sat in car. SUV came up, mom and dad pop out with 2 kids, all nude. Finally got out of car, walked to pool area dreading moment. Once there, people were so welcoming. After 5 minutes I loved it. Been a nudist for 15 years now.
Riding in the 2024 Philadelphia World Naked Bike Ride. It was an exhilarating experience being naked among 5000 bicyclists and taking the streets for our own. I must have high fived 1000 pedestrians as I passed, mostly older women about my age including a nun! The response we got from folks on every street in downtown Philadelphia was overwhelmingly positive. I have never been cheered for being naked by 1000's of enthusiastic passersby. Absolutely an overwhelming emotional experience!
my first visit to a nude resort(Shangri La) was such a relaxing experience! beyond that(~25 years ago), i have had the opportunity to visit no less than 6 more nude resorts around the USA, some several times! visits to each one were so much fun and relaxing, whether relaxing in the pool, chatting with fellow nudists, volleyball, fellowship with others in the bar...! yes its all great, and i hope to get some more new experiences and activites!!!!
I was at a nudist festival and a gentleman came over and sat next to me as we ate lunch. I was impressed how open our conversation was. We had never met and probably won't again, but we spoke without any reference to our being natural.
I practice strength training and yoga and I was reading about Ancient Greece and how the athletes exercised and competed in the Olympics naked so I decided to start doing my workouts in the buff which felt amazing, natural and liberating. I later decided to do more research on naturism, read my first 2 naturist novels Mirror Earth and the Naked Crow and that led me to pursue the naturist lifestyle and it's the best decision I ever made.
I had a couple I knew that were extremely conservative. Yet was friends with the husband at work. During lunch he revealed him and his wife were thinking about becoming nudist. I didnt know his wife was curious about seeing me naked so he asked if I wanted to try. So we had a first hime nudist barbeque and the rest is history. The first moment had a very exciting feel and very liberating.
Finding the Sequoians landed club only 10 miles and then 20 miles from where I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The open and family atmosphere attracted me and I've been a member ever since.
First visit to my local nudist resort. Extremely nervous at first. By the end of the day, I didn't want to go home and couldn't wait to return. It convinced me that anyone who tried it one time would be hooked.
That was about 10 years ago and we ended up growing into a small community. What started it was a moment of truth with one partner hearing something peronsal with the other and then the wife saying she would do it if he got me to join them...was very flattering I admit but had never done it before. Now I love it.
I have a large hill near my home that I hike daily. Usually in the early morning. Sometimes very late at night to be able to do so nude. I had a woman friend who would hike in the morning with me infrequently. On one morning hike she asked me to tell her something personal. I opened up about being a naturist. I told her that I had hiked that same hill late at night in the buff but had not on the morning hikes. She was accepting and encouraging for me to be myself. The next morning I did it in the buff, not expecting her to show up, as infrequent as she usually was. She showed up and was a bit surprised but supportive. We continued the hike with her leading. Her reaction made me unsure of her real opinion so I was reluctant to try again. A few days later she joined me again. This time surprised that I was dressed. I explained that I was not that sure of her real opinion. She told me she was fine with it and to go ahead and disrobe then and there. What a joy acceptance, support, and encouragement can be.
No. Her daughters have hiked with me, one in particular. Not naked. I have the mother’s permission to not concern myself with the what if the daughter shows up on a morning that I chance a nude hike. The mother said to be myself and they would deal with it.
My first experience was last year. It was very hot and I took off my swimsuit and sat on the patio nude. I enjoyed it and continued it. It was great to have tbe hot sun on my nude body.I encourage everyone to try it.
When I arrived at a naturist camping ground for the first time the note on the office door stated that the owners were away for the day. To book in it said to go to camp site 45. Not knowing my way round I found my self driving slowly through the camp looking to see camp site numbers and at the same time feeling that I must look like a pervert staring at all the naked campers I past. Once I found site 45 I was able to book a caravan and moved in. I took a deep breath closed the curtain so I could undress and realized that It was unnecessary. Naked I set out to explore the camp and quickly fond people to be friendly and I felt at home.
The wife and I went to Whispering Oaks, in Michigan. We got there and the lady that was there that we talked to, showed us around the park, then I paid for the day. We were told where to park, and take off our clothes. After I had parked, I got out of my truck and started disrobing, the wife stayed in her seat. She said that she was having second thoughts, I told her that I had already paid for the day and I was going to go enjoy myself, with or without her. She got out and was undressed before I could get from the driver side to the passenger side. We had a great time and we go every year to celebrate our anniversary. Love being naked.
The year I graduated from High School, I'm 71 years old, My best friend Brian and I made a Road Trip fron Hartford Connecticut to the coast of California. It was 1971, Water Gate was in the news everywhere. We drove a 1962 Ford Falcon with 100,000 miles on it. We got to LasVages Nevada in the middle of the night and got a Motel Room. We both decided to go Skinny Dipping because we were so far from home and nobody cared about our bare bodies. It was so liberating to be swimming with no swim suit and the water all around our young tender boy parts. I have loved it ever since.
We were on a Bare Necessities Cruise docked in Antigua. My wife and I booked a textile shore excursion on a catamaran. Shortly after leaving port the Captain got on his microphone and said,”’I understand you are from a nudist cruise. Is this correct?” We confirmed his understanding. He asked, “Are you all nudists?” There were a lot of us on the excursion but everybody said, “Yes.” He continued, “Well, then, for the rest of our excursion feel free to be as nude as you like.”’with that, our textile sailing became clothing optional. I was not the first to disrobe, but as I saw others around me gradually removing their clothing, I joined in. Sailing nude on that catamaran was exhilarating. As we passed others in the water or along the land, we all waved. I was pleased that mostly, people smiled and waved back. It was a memorable shore excursion.
My apartment building scheduled a visit/inspection of my unit. When they showed up, I was nude. I put a robe on but still got a nastigram, after the fact. The edginess of it will always stay with me.
Mine is a combination, my first time in a social nudist venue along with my wife seeing what it was really like, and not what she had been raised to believe it is. While I finally got to do what I'd longed to do for decades, she not only allowed me my chance, but embraced it herself. So it was both of our "first times" but also her changing who she is and now understands why I am who I am. It brought us closer together, and we now share the same love of being clothes free whenever we can be. It turned out better than I ever hoped it could.
My first time at a clothing optional beach (Hippy Hollow) was very liberating and awakening to who I really am.
Later, taking my girlfriend for her first time was another memory for both of us, and very liberating for her. She wasted no time getting her bikini off and being free to get full Sun exposure.
My most memorable moment has to be the first time I brought my frequent young companion with me to Wreck Beach. Having the opportunity to enjoy nudism in the context of a family situation was so joyful and enlightening. It was an absolutely wonderful day, and was the beginning of many great adventures with them, that graduated to my having a few more families join us over the next few years. Sadly, the children are entering society's indoctrination period and aren't as willing to join in anymore... Bit the memories persist.
Probably on holiday in Spain, going nude 24/7 at our rented villa and surrounding area. While I had many naturist experiences prior, this was a significant moment as I shed all concerns and fears in the process.
My times hiking au naturale on the trails at De Anza Springs resort hold a special place in my heart. Feeling at one with the natural environment takes me to a transformative realm.
My first time was at Studland bay in Dorset England. It's a two hour journey to get there, but of the beaches nearest to me , one was shingle, the other two are pebble. Some pebbles! Each pebble could knock a castle down on it's own. So, I drove to sandy Studland. Right throughout the journey I told myself I wouldn't go through with it. As I trudged the 20 minutes to the naturist section, I was still convinced I'd chicken out,as I was when I pegged out my mat. I decided to sit on the mat to decide what to do. But I didn't sit on the mat. I stripped and just stood there. It was almost a religious experience. For the first time in my life, I was me. It was so magical i lost track of time. As it got a bit cooler, i checked my watch. Seven pm. And i was the only person left on the beah. I've been three times since, on each sunny day off. I'm seriously considering a nude cruise if they will accept singles. I'm never going to a textile beach again
A very nice story. Happy for you that you did it in the end, and also decided to continue. I am sure it exist nude cruise for single. Good luck to you.
One of my favorite times at a clothing-optional resort was hiking the mountains with buddies. Being nude in nature was incredible! I felt so free. Also, it was one of the first times I noticed that being nude outside gave me relief from my muscular-neurological disability that I returned many times.
Probably my most memorable experience with nudity was my first World Naked Bike Ride in Portland a few years ago. Riding into the city with thousands of other naked bike riders was fantastically liberating. It felt like the whole city had gone nudist for the day. I can't wait to do it again!
I was curious. I was often nude at home, sunning in the privacy of my backyard, doing household chores and occasionally when I would be camping far off the beaten path, but always alone. I was curious. What would it be like with other like minded folks around? Would they be weird? Was I weird?I searched the internet and found what I thought would be a safe choice. A resort far enough away that there was little chance of encountering someone that knew me, my own room to retreat too if the experience became a bit overwhelming, a pool and hot tub to escape to so that I didn't have to interact with anybody. Or so I thought. My girlfriend and I discussed it at some length and agreed that as soon as it felt weird we would leave.
It never became weird, in fact, Terra Cotta became a very special place. Every trip we met new and interesting people from all walks of life. Unfortunately Terra Cotta is no more but it lead to embracing nude beaches, nude cruises and many more resorts that brought new people and experiences into our lives.
I don’t know how I let grad school classmates know about this part of my life, but it was in the natural sciences, so many of us were laid back about nudity. On a camping trip I fell ill. So I missed the big class skinnydip after a hike. I was able to join afterward and my adviser took me on the hike and then the skinnydip. She said as we swam she gets nervous about the optics but I assured her that the declared nudist in the group appreciated it.
Also when a classmate and her husband would come over, for a while, the husband and I would do the visits nude. Those were fun and free days.
I discovered that I liked being naked as a child, throwing clothes off when it was warm and I was getting hot running around in the garden, or similar. This carried over into stripping off when I was left at home on my own and when I went off across the fields, or through woods, near home. In my teens a friend told me that his family were nudists, this was a heads up to warn me that if I visited their house without any warning that I might catch them naked.
Discovering that there were people that I knew who shared my preference to be nude was a great in on the nudist world, so this has to be my most memorable nudist experience. Even though the years now make that memory more distant it was the start of my life as a nudist. Previously I'd been rebelling against textiles without calling myself anything, labels may not be popular with some, but I wanted to call myself a nudist then and have done ever since. I want to make it clear that I see nothing wrong about living naked. Having a friend who could tell me about his and his family's experiences as nudists helped to open up a world that my textile family would not have introduced me to. Previously my naked experiences had been solo, I now knew that there were other people out there who wanted to socialise nude and free.
For the survey I selected 'connecting with others' as once I'd started entering into the world of social nudism I knew that this was how I wanted to live and socialise, the world is a better place when everyone is naturally naked.
Going for my first naked 5k walk at Camping Naturiste Verdon Provence - the sense of freedom was awesome!
Enjoying a nudist beach experience with my Mom and her future husband. (Red, White and Blue Beach - Santa Cruz, CA)
I was a practicing nudist long before my wife and I met. Unfortunately she wasn’t and had no interest in joining me in this activity.
Finally after several years of inviting her to join me when I had plans to visit a nude beach or resort she agreed.
We flew down to Jamaica to spend a week at a clothing optional resort in Negril.
It was a great experience. It was a tremendous pleasure to share nudity with her and the other guests and staff.
Once naked she took to it like a duck takes to water,
That first experience opened up our marriage to other adventures that continue to this day.
My wife and I had a nudist wedding. Everyone was nude including our guests.
sounds wonderous
That was wonderful. We are hoping to retie the knot as nudists too.

very vrry nice, we wish that there were more of you.

That was the same resort that we were married. One side of the resort was nude the other side was textile! Beautiful Place!

My most memorable experience was the Montpelier VT World Naked Bike Ride. There were 37 of us, got great pictures and met some awesome people!
I was at a nudist festival and a gentleman came over and sat next to me as we ate lunch. I was impressed how open our conversation was. We had never met and probably won't again, but we spoke without any reference to our being natural.

Great book series!

sounds fascinating. I hope that the opportunity arises for you to say more.
Meeting other nudists are lasting daily memories for me
Finding the Sequoians landed club only 10 miles and then 20 miles from where I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The open and family atmosphere attracted me and I've been a member ever since.

We were very surprised at how friendly everyone was at the nude beach 🏖️ and then at the first resort we went to

Going to an outdoor live play at a nudist club.
I am a nudist
The wife and I went to Whispering Oaks, in Michigan. We got there and the lady that was there that we talked to, showed us around the park, then I paid for the day. We both decided to go Skinny Dipping because we were so far from home and nobody cared about our bare bodies. Has to be our first time nudist experience especially in the outdoors and nature. Then our first connections with other nudists.

Nude hiking!
Studland was my first nude beach visit, many years ago, it is so easy to get used to being clothes-free there.
One of my favorite times at a clothing-optional resort was hiking the mountains with buddies. Being nude in nature was incredible! I felt so free. Also, it was one of the first times I noticed that being nude outside gave me relief from my muscular-neurological disability that I returned many times.

The connection with others is unbelievable and wish it had happened earlier in my life.
