Dan and Stephanie were among the first people we met at Olive Dell. They were genuinely kind, personable, helpful and welcoming to us as new members of Olive Dell.

Thank you for this thoughtful and respectful article. We live in a world of sound bites and anything that offers click-bait. It is about making money at anyone's expense. It is sad that two very generous people have been so maligned, and the nudist community as well.

Excellent piece, Evan, on the harm media can do to families and communities with their callous reporting.

I've covered several murders during my career as a reporter and I tried to report only the facts I knew and present them with the sensitivity and care needed. I'm sorry to say, that isn't always how some media outlets operate. It used to be sensational headlines sold newspapers, now it's the clicks they want.

Thank you for remembering the Menards, and their community. Also, for explaining the situation that may have led Sparks to allegedly commit the crime.

I have fond memories from my only visit in 2013, I was fed when I showed up late and hungry. Too bad what happened. The colored cabins were also a fine memory. of running into a vision, a naked Native American, or possibly and angel, IDK, it was kind of weird.....but that is a story for another time.

The fact that it’s a joke to these publishers is the most insidious thing of all. It’s like how did the world get to this point?
