Florida’s new massage therapy law exempts nude resorts
Planet Nude examines HB197, a new Florida law that tightens regulation of massage therapy establishments, aiming to combat human trafficking and ensure professional standards. Going nude at Dragonfly Fest
Author D.H. Jonathan shares his experiences and lessons learned firsthand by being the only nude person at the Dragonfly Festival, a multi-day event centered around Ecstatic Dance and conscious practices in Texas. His narrative explores the boundaries of self-expression within supposedly open environments, detailing his journey from initial skepticism to surprising acceptance. Jonathan's experience as a nude participant not only tested the festival's commitment to freedom of expression but also served as an enlightening platform for discussions on naturism, ultimately fostering greater understanding and acceptance among attendees.
Fight fascism by saying “I Do” in the nude
In this story by Curtis Atkins, the mayor of San Vero Milis in Sardinia champions naked beach weddings as a bold statement against neo-fascism and a celebration of freedom. Drawing historical parallels, Atkins reflects on the prohibition of nudity under Mussolini's fascist regime and the contemporary rise of far-right ideologies. Through Mayor Luigi Tedeschi's actions, the piece highlights the transformative power of naturism in challenging oppression and promoting a culture of body freedom, all while exploring the local economic and environmental benefits of such progressive policies.
Carved out, carved up
An opinion piece by Timothy from Almostwild about the complexities and implications of recent legislation in Florida is explored in this compelling article on Planet Nude. Timothy critically discusses the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR)'s successful efforts to exempt affiliated clubs from Florida's new law banning nude massage services, intended to combat human trafficking. He expresses concern about the nudist community's selective activism and the broader societal impacts of such legal maneuvers, urging a more inclusive and proactive stance in defending civil liberties and body freedom.
