This week on Planet Nude: examining art modeling double standards, exploring naturist discussions, celebrating Skinny Dip Day, and sharing first-time stories
Welcome to another Weekly Wrap. This week we examined double standards in art modeling, explored incongruent standards in naturist discussion, reported on the success of Skinny Dip Day, asked readers about their first time stories, and dropped two new webcomics on Strips! What a week!
Let’s jump right into it.
This week on Planet Nude 🪐
Georgia's Serendipity Park listed for sale
Serendipity Park, a beloved nudist resort in Cleveland, Georgia, has been put up for sale at a listing price of $1.8 million. This development comes at a time of uncertainty, with the current owners purportedly committed to ensuring the park remains a sanctuary for naturists. Despite the sale, the club continues to operate and has a full schedule of events planned for the summer. Serendipity Park is one of only two remaining family nudist resorts in the southern region (comprised of Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina), alongside just Rock Haven in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Art model activism
In this essay, author D.H. Jonathan shares his experience advocating for equal treatment in art modeling. After encountering gender-based discrimination at a local art academy, he addressed the issue with the owner, leading to a policy change for nude sessions. Jonathan's essay highlights the importance of non-sexual nudity in art and the power of honest communication. Join the discussion and share your thoughts!

But is it naturism?
This essay by Timothy from Almostwild on Planet Nude discusses the relationship between naturism and various forms of nudity, especially in LGBTQ+ contexts. Timothy argues for naturists to support all expressions of nudity, promoting tolerance and inclusivity rather than enforcing strict naturist values. He emphasizes solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, advocating for a live-and-let-live approach that respects individual choices and freedoms in enjoying nudity.
What was your first social nudist experience like?
Planet Nude invites you to reflect on your first social nudist experience in this engaging #UndressedThread. Whether it was at a beach, resort, or private gathering, sharing your story can help new naturists feel more confident and excited about their own journeys. Join the discussion and let us know where your first social nudist experience was and what it was like!
Skinny Dip Day 2024 was a splash
Planet Nude’s wrap-up on Skinny Dip Day 2024 celebrates the event’s success at Bates Beach, where over $2,000 was raised for the Fistula Foundation. With support from SCNA and FoBB, the event saw 45-50 participants, including notable figures, despite cloudy weather. Collectively, SkinnyDipDay.org raised over $10,500, funding surgeries for 17 women, showcasing community spirit and body freedom.
