A Nativa Solitária has been on my watchlist for a while, so I'm glad to see it's on Vimeo! No English subs, but that won't stop me. Gonna look for the 1982 movie as well!
You could almost write the translation with the sound off. (I don't know about you, but even with languages I don't speak—I have a little Spanish, but not much—I need the sound on.)
I actually recently tweaked her English Wikipedia page because it was pretty terrible. It mentioned, for instance, the first time she was hospitalized, but didn't make any mention of the fact that the hospitalization happened after her brother-in-law sexually harassed her and then placed the blame on her when his wife caught him... which seems like a pretty glaring thing to leave out. Her Portuguese Wikipedia article is a lot more thorough. If feels like the whole English version needs an overhaul; maybe I'll edit it more down the line when I've more time.

I've read quite a bit about her. A fascinating woman.
"Who do you wish you could have dinner with?"
"Luz del Sol."
I found the lyrics to the Rita Lee song and ran them through Google Translate.
I represent madness today
More whatever you want
Everything you see comes out of your mouth
of a great woman
But crazy!
I represent the secret today
wrapped in paper
Like fire light
Was not afraid
She also went to heaven, early!
I represent a fruit today
It might even be an apple
No, it's not a sin
just an invitation
come see me tomorrow
Same!
Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I represent folklore today
Closed in the subway
From the big city that's in a hurry
To know where I'm going
No way!
I represent the cicada today
who will still sing
In this anthill who has ears
You will be able to listen
My scream!
I pose the question today
In Mom's belly
And who dies today, is born one day
to live tomorrow
And always!
I have never heard of her, but am looking forward to watching the movie.

Thank you for sharing this. I was totally ignorant of her. Wow, what a fantastically brave person!
