It is sad that nudity is so stigmatized in the general population that this even worthwhile. Unfortunately it can lead right into the sexual activity fakes. Good post, Thanks!
The fix, in theory, would be easy - to not let nudity - whether real or fake - have that kind of power to shame. In practice, it’s a much harder goal to attain, but yes, naturists and nudists and nude-friendly people of all kinds lead the way in showing how to get there!
Very interesting article Evan. Just today, we were informed by a friend that their daughter’s football coach was arrested for using AI to create nude photos of underage girls and put them online in the dark web. His daughter was one of them.
And then we see a sitting president post a fake AI video of a former president being arrested. There are evil people in the world.
These aren’t just isolated incidents. They represent two of the most dangerous faces of AI abuse. The sexual exploitation of images without consent. And the political manipulation of reality for personal gain. This is what AI can do now… and it’s only getting easier to misuse.
Today, any image or video you’ve ever shared… even fully clothed, family-friendly, and entirely innocent, can now be stripped of your clothing by AI. A beach photo. A summer hike. A birthday party video. If you’re in it, someone can now make a fake version of you nude, and no one else may know the difference.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a naturist, a public figure, or just someone who posted a happy vacation memory on Instagram. AI doesn’t need your consent to undress you.
This is the very thing naturists have spent years fighting against. The idea that nudity can be stolen, sexualized, or used as a weapon. And now, thanks to AI, the tools to do that are sitting in people’s pockets.
But... we’ve also been thinking about this from a nudism or naturism perspective. And we can’t help but wonder: Could this scary technology accidentally free some people from the fear of being seen nude?
If anyone can have a fake nude made of them, whether they’re naturists or not, then what exactly is anyone hiding from anymore? The threat isn’t what you’ve actually done. The threat now comes from what someone else can fabricate.
And suddenly, simply being open about your real-life naturism... starts to seem a lot less risky.
I saw a TV documentary that included an investigation of nudifying software. A sinister side to it is that if you try to nudify a picture of a man then, likely as not, it will give him a female body. The software has been developed specifically to abuse women
Ai pimps, that can pimp anyone, get money for it, and neither have the consent nor share the profits with the pimped. Powered by extravagant excessive data centers that destroy the planet, pollute water supply and jack electrical prices etc etc.
If I were less ethical I'd have grok drum up some incriminating images of ppl like musk, doing violent pimp actions, in a ridiculous pimp suit.
But alas, I'm both too ethical and burnt out for such shenanigans
"Have I become a pornstar without my knowledge," we all must wonder now.
Every coin has two sides. On the one hand, there is a violation of people's rights, but on the other hand, the technology of artificial modeling of specific people's naked images will inevitably lead to a society's indifference towards nudity. This is a step towards the normalization of nudity by society.
And, some of those consequences may come from the usual business/corporate suspects, their shear absolute fear of minority, but wealthy, groups of bigots, and the declaration that, "even if fake, this could hurt our image to have soneone work for use that has nude as of them out there."
That said, I do find a certain irony in that I recently read a nudist short story about a company called Tex, which was a kind of holographic clothing system virtually everyone started using, and thus you could literally be dressed in, or look like, almost anything. The nudists in the story decide to "fix this" by introducing a virus that disables the devices in all regions that are safe to do so (i.e. no environmental reasons it would be dangerous), and effectively "nudifying" for real the entire planet. One needs to be real careful to not fall into similar logic, for what we presume, from our perspective, are honorable causes. I was left, after reading, thinking, "What if, instead of textiles making the tech it had been nudists - protection from the environment, and many other hazards, and the ability to, when having to step into the clothed world, just flipping a switch to be "safe" to those that disapprove. How very different the same, identical, technology then becomes...

People even use #naturist #nudist when they have swimsuits on

Good to think positive, unfortunately the fake photos and video today can hit some people much much harder than others.
