It's never to late to visit. I joined Naturist many years ago, letter writing, donations but never attended, could never find a partner with same interest. My first visit, I was 72 years old, mentioned where I was going to blabber mouth friends and stayed at Oak lake Resort in Okla. state for most of week. Wife and I are still together but she just wont go. I still donate to AANR every year.
are places that nudists can enjoy a clothes free life becoming a thing of the past? looks like (mostly expensive) resorts will be the only places where nudists can gather. Of course there are nude beaches and assorted naked gatherings but the "good old days" of nudist resorts are gone, perhaps forever.
Sad to say, but from my experience. When a nudist resort goes textile, it usually becomes low end trailer park when in a year. The nudist move on and go elsewhere.
While I never planned or really wanted to visit Olive Dell, I've known about the resort for about as long as I can remember thanks to the pictures in old nudist publications. Always heard and read good things about the resort until recently. It's a shame and another big loss to the nudist community.
I've never really understood the "policy change" to go from Nudist/Clothing Optional to textile unless this was the plan all along. Would they expect their current residents/members to go along with it? Let's face it, they visited or lived there for the ability to be nude. The owners either expect a complete change of "customers" or failure? Then sell to developers??
Very sad . . . .
Another one bites the dust.
This was an iconic place. Nothing else was like it, and I've been to many other places. The family that had managed it did a tremendous good.
Means more of us at Glen Eden
Great article. Sad situation 😢
Within a year the land will be sold to development company to build five thousand cookie cutter homes on for sale at 1.5 million each.
Another excellent report about a terrible situation, Evan.
Although I personally will probably never have the opportunity to visit a nudist resort, I still dislike hearing of things like this. So very sad!!

Sounds like a sad state of affairs and the end of an era.

I didn’t have the chance to visit, but I enjoyed seeing it as the setting for the film Act Naturally. Another sad day for naturism.
Sad and disturbing as California and the country lose another club - another club with a long history 😢
This is very sad 😞

This feels like a tragic end to a place beloved by many.
