As I've been a naturist for a very long time, nudism has had positive influences on most aspects of my life - not the least of which is "getting older". I am totally comfortable with the fact that I no longer have the physique I had when I was 30 years younger - and that's fine. However, although I think my attitude is mainly influenced by my nudism/naturism, I have no idea what my perceptions would have been should I have been a "textile".

I feel more comfortable and at home in my skin. We can see each others imperfections without judgement

I have always liked bodies. Their different sizes and shapes and colors are endlessly fascinating to me. So are their changes as people grow up, mature, and gradually age. Some others, including fellow naturists, cling to an ideal of body beautiful that is youthful. I too enjoy the exciting energy and joy that radiates from youthful bodies as much as anyone. That doesn't change my view of bodies as nice places to live in while we are here. At 81, my own body is far from classicly beauthiful. Still, form follows function. It is still serving me well. I am happy it is here, despite its flaws. I enjoy the bodies of my older friends as well. I have always felt that if I like the person inside, I like the body they come in.

I’ve always viewed aging simply as part of life. I don’t fear it or try to pretend it’s not happening. I just love my life. The approach doesn’t change because of a number.

Regarding how aging and naturism interact -- I think aging provides me with an enhanced naturist spirit of adventure. Less f*cos are given the more I age, the more willing I am to embrace the moment and choose adventure, the less concerned I am with what someone else will think. Aging has enhanced my naturist life.

As I get older I have become less concerned about peoples surface assessment of me. When I am clothed now it is for comfort not to make an impression. So I am comfortable being naked at 65 with young people in their physical prime. Being comfortable in my skin has come with age. Being naked is the ultimate expression of that comfort.

I never harboured a 'forever young' perspective on life. I saw old people from (my) young age, and how their bodies started failing. I saw it happen to my parents. It will happen to me.

I just try to get old as healthy as possible, by exercising, eating sensibly and 'doing the right things', whatever those may be. If anyone knows, please tell me!!

I think that society has a tremendously negative effect on both aging and perception on body. "Old" people (+50) are perceived and supposed to be decorous, sexless and conservative. We shouldn't care a damn about what other people think about our bodies or what we do in our private lives! More so when we are "old", as we no longer have anything to lose other that our happiness and freedom. What is old, anyway??

First ventured out the door clothes forgotten at age 4. Having grown up in a nudist home I can say it was fun when family members and old friends were around. But you adjust to the coming and going of people just like in the textile world. I have been in and out of nude social experiences over a lifetime. Age hasn’t changed anything. It’s still a second nature experience under the right circumstances and as a nudist I have stayed in shape exercising in various ways. (Just back from a nude water volleyball game), before commenting here. YES, naturism has given me a positive attitude about aging.

More involved in treating my body as a temple for the spirit. Simply do not abuse it in any wsay.

Naturism has made me worry less about my body in the sense of letting go of what I can't control. The groups I belong to have a wide variety of ages and even the oldest seem to be having as much fun as I am. I'm far more concerned about the functionality of my body than its appearance.

I enjoy a wide range of social activities clad and naked: hiking, cycling, running, sailing, beaches, bbqs, saunas and on and on - all while aging! Aging itself is the tough bit. I’m not sure if nudity helps deal with that. Hence my hard to say response. I still prefer naturist activities whenever possible or practical though!

Last year when I started socializing Nude it was because I was in a bad place with myself. (A friend led me) now I’m no longer “look at me I’m an old widow woman, disgusting”. Now I love my sags, rolls, and wrinkles. I’m accepted by others, more importantly I’m loved by me!

I put down "no". I look at photos of myself naked when I was younger and frankly have a bit of envy that has changed. I'm 73. But, in reading the comments here I am seeing a very positive side to nudity and aging. am I going to change my vote? I'll stick with my first choice and give this more thought. thank you for bringing this important subject us for us

I don’t know what impact it has had on my view of aging as a whole, but I do think it’s made me more aware and accepting of the processes that the body goes through in aging, and that’s a positive.

When I was young, I admired older women, As a lifelong Naturist I have always found the most beauty in 60-80 year-old women and still do now that I am in my 60's Actually seeing the whole person and spending time around them, participating in fun moments of life fills me with satisfaction. Age, Illness and Injury gets us all in the end, those of us who have made it this far should celebrate together, Naturally!

I have never had a negative perception to aging. As I grew up I was always shown thru sword and action that aging was just part of life and that it isn’t something to define how we are. Rather aging gives us the grace to become more with ourselves and less with the world. As we become more with ourselves, we grow spiritually and fuse into the true being of love that we are.

Though next month I'll turn 50, being a maniac/insomniac keeps it up strong, lol! I think I'm aging gracefully. Thanks for asking. Yes, absolutely, naturism is the key! I'm naked typing this, you know the volcanic tropics of the Nicaraguan jungle, 110 F, the scorched-earth erotica of me Tarzan and my dumbass, lol!

I replied yes, but that's not an entirely accurate reply for me. I can't honestly claim to feel positive about aging (I'm 71), but spending time nude does help me to maintain a realistic view of what's happening to my body. It forces me face changes head on; I'm talking about crepey skin, lost muscle tone, age spots, and so on. I'm certainly not about to stop going nude, so my only choice is to accept reality.

For me it’s truly hard to say. I’ve been a nudist for so long that the only thing I really have noticed about aging is how my aging body has limited my own abilities. I guess, now that I’m thinking about it, I stopped noticing/judging others many years ago. So I guess to a certain extent that’s positive.

Between botox, hair dye, tummy tucks, boob jobs, etc, it's hard to say what an aging body looks like anymore in the textile world. Naturism has given me a realistic version, and I find that to be a positive thing. The part that I do love is that women's disposition abandons a need to "try" and we have many jokes about body parts that are screamining-ly funny. I don't know if men do this! But I'd be interested in hearing.
