Yes, I visited Aquinnah formerly known as Gay Head, and another naturist beach when my family met up with local naturist Peter Simon on Martha's Vineyard. The name Lucy Vincent comes to my mind, a private naturist beach only open to residents. The summers are gorgeous.

I welcome and enjoy as many nude friendly social gatherings as I can. Nude beaches have always been a huge favorite of mine. All of my friends know I enjoy living naked, most join me in social situations that permit it.

Although I checked the box for 'I am not a naturist', I did so because there wasn't a box that correctly described my situation. I try to be nude as much as possible. I definitely can't step outside my apartment nude, and I have to be very careful near windows. I could close the blinds, but I absolutely like the light. I can't even imagine being around other nude people, BUT yearn for such a wonderful thing. I do enjoy reading about other's experiences, and am DEFINITELY pro-nudist. I don't believe that there should be any laws against public nudity. But, alas, I am a very solitary nudist, BUT not by choice!

A little bit of A, a little bit of B, a little bit of C., a little bit of D 😂 I have friends at local naturist places whom I treasure. I also find that I find more like-minded people online. I'm an introvert and sometimes I want to be alone and just swim out to the dock and enjoy a few hours there. I enjoy this variety and choices. Everyone has value.

This would be my answer, too :)

Simply based on where I live, I have never been to a naturist club/beach, although I would really like to. But cost/distance is a factor. For many years I got my social nudism as the local Korean Spa, but my local spa has now closed. For now I am just a home nudist enjoying swimming in my backyard. Sometimes friends come to visit and join me in the pool. Once I hosted a nude movie night. I connect mostly online with others to share our like-minded beliefs.

We have a permanent site at a year-round nudist resort. Lots of amenities and social events there. For three of the four seasons, we spend 3-4 days each week there. We also do at least one nude cruise each year.

I started my nudist journey way before the internet was even a thought. Now we enjoy going to clubs and beaches whenever we can. We winter at a nudist resort in South Texas. We love the community there and the variety of activities.

I have been actively nudist/naturist for 50 years, and I remember there being many local skinny dipping swimming spots here locally many years ago. All of them are no longer available, now instead they are surrounded by condos or apartments. My favorite old swimming spot on the Little River in Durham was shut down in 1990 when 8 very expensive houses were built on the ridge overlooking the river. One favorite spot is now a Raleigh city park.

Yes, I find an online community and an assortment of nude events that I attend regularly, but it's not quite the same as the freewheeling scenes at local ponds, creeks, and rivers that I knew in my misspent youth. I book life drawing classes as a nude model, and I do yoga nude with a local group, but I miss the freedom to be naked in the woods. Somehow landed clubs and house parties seem so tame by comparison.

In 1987 I met my wife while hosting an organization meeting for what became Triangle Area Naturists. I envisioned the group as an advocate for nude recreation on public land, seeking to find places that we could liberate and retain the freedom to be nude in nature that we were rapidly loosing at that time. The group however decided they would rather host house parties and find safe spaces where they could be naked in private. After 5 years I let control of the group pass to others who were more in line with that group consensus. A few years ago I actually applied for membership and someone I didn't know called me for a group orientation offered to new members. It was kinda surreal.

The local scene has dwindled until it is now nearly non-existent in the real world. It only exists in the safe confines of dull house parties and online groups. I notice fewer young people involved in nudism/naturism every year. Now when I go to landed clubs or hosted events I rarely see anyone significantly younger than me. At least locally it seems our naturist movement is in danger of death by old age.

I hope other areas have more lively scenes than central North Carolina.

I read your experience and see some parallels. I also met my husband through my naturist non-landed club. The club used to go hiking nude and to the naturist beach, when I joined as a 23-year-old exchange student from Germany. Before the pandemic, the older members only went to the monthly potluck and sat in the hot tub. My plans to revitalize my local club, the CampingBares.org include the new nude Yoga on the local naturist beach, get togethers on the naturist beach, Korean spa visits for women only (I find new members there as well, but mostly not American women, which sadly says a lot about the culture) and nude hikes, nude campouts, all naturist activities that are free or low cost that appeal to the occasional younger naturist-friendly people. Anza Borrego Desert State Park still has wide open spaces as well as the Pacific Crest Trail where it starts, Cleveland National Forest and the Bureau of Land Management offer me many open spaces to be out in nature as intended.

I create my own naturist events for my group, the meetup.com/san-diego-camping-bares

Trips to our local naturist beach, Black's Beach in San Diego, California, 4 annual nude hikes to Deep Creek Hot Springs with two naturist campouts, nude hikes in the high desert and along the Pacific Crest trail, another naturist campout. We are currently re-inventing the club and going back to having monthly potlucks at members homes with pools and Hot tubs. Other than my local club, I spend a lot of time promoting naturism on groups on MeWe, WhatsApp and Telegram, and share information and community on Nude Revolutions, Naturist Hub and Thailandnaturist, when I am not traveling to naturist events (naturist festivals in Canada, Germany, New Zealand, US) or naturist locations. I also make my own naturist hike/campout when I travel in places like Montana, where you don't run into many people. I freely share my photos and what I do, so I can encourage more women, families, everyone, to enjoy naturism. Lastly, my whole family is always nude inside our home around each other.

I'm glad you are reinventing the Camping Bares! A club with such a rich history can rise again. I was fortunate to meet a few members at the Operation Handshake event a couple of weeks ago and sensed their dedication.

I like being with others at our local nude club. One favorite activity is playing bocce in the nude. It just feels so free and uninhibited. I’m a relatively new bocce player and can’t imagine playing with clothes on. It just wouldn’t be the same. I also have a large private deck in my backyard and enjoy spending time in the nude there as well.

I'm very fortunate in that I live just down the road from my local club. Going to the water aerobics class on warm mornings, participating in the club's choir, and joining friends for meals at the club's restaurants keeps me involved with the community. Volunteering at the American Nudist Research Library, going on clothing optional cruises, and attending the occasional naturist festival doesn't hurt either.

We enjoy a visit or two a year to various naturist resorts, generally when traveling to visit the kids. We have a pool and hot tub and enjoy both frequently. Occasionally a neighbor couple will join us. Would love to host more like minded people but we live in the high desert of So Cal so are a bit isolated.

I visit several nudist clubs/resorts and attend nudist events each year in addition to the club I'm a member of. I go on a nude cruise every year. It is a great way to meet other nudists from other places. I stay in touch with some people I meet by email or texting. I don't connect much on social media.

Like many, I debated the survey response options for a bit. And judging from the number of comments, this is a more complicated topic than may appear on the surface. People vary by how the view the “naturist community”, how they classify their own style of nude recreation enjoyment, their variable appetite for being nude or around other naturists, etc…. So, it’s probably no surprise that the simple question elicited such measured responses.

I find that I have a bit of a love-hate (kind of a strong word, maybe love-frustrated) relationship with the naturist community, and even naturism in general. It’s always there, I always come back, but sometimes, I’m content to go off the naturist grids. Whether that is born out of a disconnect with naturism or simply other life factors taking priority, the result can be the same. So, for me, no one answer fits all the time. Depends on many variables.

My problem us that I am a married naturist whose wife doesn't participate. The only nudes resort anywhere near me bans men with my circumstance. So I can only practice nude recreation on an occasional roadtrip. Unfortunate that the nudist community discriminated against its own.

My social nudism takes place online, at regular local events, and occasionally at beaches and naturist clubs. But if I had to pick just one option, I guess online/social media is my most utilized route for staying connected with the community and building friendships - especially in the colder months.

A long time ago, this family was a member of SunAir through ASA. Due to economic pressures, we were not able to pursue our intended trips to the "camp", so we had dropped off by the wayside.

We enjoyed the welcome and openness of the organization through the person of "Uncle" Henry, the owner.

Over the decades, the number of clubs has dwindled, include Sun Air. My wife and I have visited Cypress Gardens in Florida. We visited three times the nearest club in our "neck of the woods". The location is over 95 miles away. And it is a travail in terms of getting there. My wife is not a naturist or nudist, though she will not avoid it when we stop at a nudist venue. We both are in our early to mid 70s. Thus it is difficult for us to get to any location close-by because there are none.

I support my naturalism by being a member of AANR.

There is an unfortunate turn in acceptance of simple nudity in many regions of the USA. We are losing the battle for normalcy when it comes to simple nudity.

I replied "Online" but I'm not happy about it. Even before the pandemic, I'd started going out less and changes in my life since then have put an end to me going out in naturist spaces. No real decision, it just happened.

I would like to rebuild real-world community, but without the income and the energy I had just a few years ago.

We have a site at our local landed club (Glen Eden). We started out by staying Saturday and Sunday but then we added Monday and sometimes Friday. There is so much going on we want to be a part of! I also want to start going to outings put on by two local nonlanded clubs (SCNA and NitOC) that both have a lot of positive energy).

I have always enjoyed the nude life style. I am usually naked around the house majority of the time, inside and out. I have been to several nude beaches and like the openness. Would like to find more places closer to home, be it clubs or outdoors. I am in lower part of South Carolina. Would to meet more like minded people too!
