Will they digitize the older issues? I’m talking about before they even digitized as an option.

The digitised issues go back to 2007 - which was a Herculean task in itself. It would therefore be physically impossible to go back further into the archives. And even that would have to assume that copies of every single magazine dating back to 1902 were still in existence. Sadly, this is not the case.

I understand and I just wondered. If I was in the UK and knew of a collection I would ask if they could be digitized.

The American Nudist Research Library in Kissimmee FL has scans of H&E going back to 1934 that are available for qualified researchers.

Just when I was getting into ordering physical copies. Oh well.

I think that the focus of the cover shots - 26 nude women mostly shown full body with posing to barely cover nudity, vs. 2 men shot from the shoulders up - shows that naturism might have been the subject, but not the actual purpose, of the magazine. Hopefully that changes with the new owners.

Health and Efficiency and The Farmer’s Almanac gone from print in the same year. That long 20th Century really is over.

“Beginning with that same issue, the magazine announced it will also no longer carry adult services classifieds or personals.”

About damn time

what was wrong with them doing that?

Because those are nothing to do with Naturism, and they "muddy the waters" between naturism and eroticism.

Because sex ads don’t belong in a naturist magazine, period.

That’s like having a magazine devoted to healthy eating and nutrition, but putting ads for McDonalds in it.

They wrote an article about me last month, they are really nice and I love their take on naturism.
