Page 92: The fences are tall but the house is transparent

Panel 1. Terry, her crew, Gertrude and the kids are lounging together in Gertrude's back yard; all are now nude. Gertrude is indicating the fence and her surroundings. Gertrude: So, as you can see, the privacy is actually, pretty good, and the neighbors all know about us anyway. Terry: Lovely! Caroline: Let's go get some drinks from the kitchen! Panel 2. Terry: You know, I've been trying for years to pitch a bigger story on naturism, but my editor keeps telling me it's too boring. Panel 3. Caroline re-emerges from inside the house, gesturing excitedly and spilling her drink. Caroline: …Maybe you can cover this nude protest march that is passing through our street. Panel 4. Terry jumps up, beckoning her cameraman. Terry: Oh cool! C'mon, Jerry, Harry, let's go! Panel 5. Jerry the cameraman and Harry the boom mic operator have got up and are ready to go, but they're still dubious. Jerry: What, naked? Terry: Of course! Let's blend in!

Author comment:

Adapting my original script so that the front yard/back yard thing made sense was a bit of work. Originally, I had Caroline peering over the fence, but that would have given her a view of a back alley and some shrubbery, not the main road that the front of the house is situated on and that a protest march would go through. Of course, this change means that it will be a while before you actually see the nude protest.

Greyfriar’s Isle is a comic about an island and the people who live there. A small family runs Marsh Light, a naturist campsite connected to the beach where locals and tourists spend their vacation time. The island is historically friendly to naturism, but not universally so. Also, there are ghosts and strange, eldritch island customs.

Greyfriar's Isle is inspired by the comics I read in my youth, by the real-world island experiences I had in my youth, my ideas about what naturism should be and the stories naturists tell each other about themselves.
