If you want to know why many of us draw a thick line between nudism and sexual nudity, this is why, this is why, this is why. The ignorance is huge and so the battle is already tough enough, despite nearly a century of practice and tradition.

Our political offices are filled with sickos like this, and what is especially frightening is the fact that they represent a majority of voters! I wasn't able to watch the YouTube videos because I am banned from YouTube, but I read the article. I was aware of the Madison Naked Bike Ride, and definitely applauded them for allowing this, but unfortunately ANY pubic nudity ANYWHERE is under severe attack.

You're wrong. Those political sickos DO NOT represent a majority of voters, they simply represent a majority of voters in their artificially-created and heavily-gerrymandered political districts. What we see happening in Wisconsin is what we see all too often in this country: tyranny of the political minority. But isn't America a democracy? Not so much.

Thanks for this terrific reporting, Evan, and the interview with the mother. She has articulated her case so well, that frankly that should be enough in and of itself. It’s so easy to see - rationally, logically - that she is absolutely right: the only people guilty of exploitation here are the knee-jerk, white-knuckle, power-hungry hypocrites making a big deal out of it and acting to threaten the civil liberties of an entire populace.

Ive highlighted it several times. Politics 101 -- Find something to demonize and blame, make people scared of it, offer your solution as the solitary path forward. While legitimate causes are out there, too often they exist in a sea of measures designed solely to increase and preserve power.

Given the propensity of US legislators to refer to religious ethics and morals in their decision-making, how would they react if nudity was part of your religious belief? The early Christian Adamites wore no clothing during their services. Or does religious freedom only mean the modern US version of Christianity rather than all faiths?

These bills could have far reaching consequences for traditional family centered naturism. I’ve long said and most naturists agree, that having a family friendly attitude with in mainstream naturism is the best defense against our way life from being overrun by swingers, perverts, and sex fiends. And when it does it will only give political figures more of a reason to ban it nationwide. I’ve practiced naturism with my family since I was a small child and it’s one of the few things I base my identity on. If it goes away it will be as though someone punched a hole in my chest. The hypocrisy of a particular political party never fails to surprise me. This is the party of supposed free speech and parental rights. But a more accurate description would be the party of free speech that supports their agenda and the parental rights they define based on their agenda. I still can’t believe there are naturists that support this party, because ultimately they are voting against their own interests.
