Date set for Portland’s ‘emergency’ naked bike ride
Organizers say the protest will take place Sunday, October 12
The organizers of Portland’s “World Naked Bike Ride Portland” have announced that their “emergency” naked bike ride—planned in response to President Donald Trump’s deployment of federalized National Guard troops (and reported by Planet Nude last week)—will roll out Sunday, October 12 at 2:30 p.m.
In an Instagram post, the group said the ride will protest the “militarization of our city” and draw attention to “the ongoing and escalating harm to immigrant and Indigenous communities.” The starting location will be revealed Friday, but the route will remain undisclosed for safety reasons.
“This is a very peaceful form of protest,” organizers wrote. “Joy is a form of protest. Being together with mutual respect and kindness is a form of protest.”
The original Portland World Naked Bike Ride team has clarified that it is not involved with this event. Planet Nude will continue to follow the story and report additional details as they emerge. 🪐
