The B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Foundation aims to make naturism’s history and culture accessible to all, fostering public understanding and appreciation near Haulover Beach Park
I made a small contribution. While not diminishing my small support of the WNRL research library at Glen Eden Sun Club, I can understand the benefit of better public understanding through better information and access. If nudism and personal liberty is facing headwinds, this could be a fantastic legacy to make an institution that cannot be easily washed away by the tides of time.
I tried to reach Andrew by email, but I'm not sure I have his correct address. My questions for further information are: When did BEACHES begin consideration of establishing a library, and why? Was it simply to provide another repository for naturist information, or was it because of the lack of a facility open to the general public?
Were there other locations considered that were dismissed for one reason or another? How did you settle on these three as possibilities?
Has the organization already been raising money for the project, or was this announcement the start of a capital campaign?
I’m also interested in your personal story: I understand you’re a retired journalist (as I am) and that you have been a government spokesman. Please talk a little about that and how you got involved with naturism, and with the BEACHES foundation.
Any other information you can provide would be appreciated, along with any photos you might share, including one of yourself.
