Wrapping the Wrap
The Weekly Wrap hangs its towel—retiring our roundup so we can focus on what matters most
We’re retiring the Weekly Wrap.
We’ve done one of these roundups every week for 69 straight weeks—and while I’ve been thinking about wrapping it up for a while now, I couldn’t resist stopping at my favorite number 😏 (Bill and Ted gif incoming).
These posts have served as a way to round up recent stories, but over time, we’ve realized they mostly rehash what readers already know—and they don’t tend to spark much engagement. Meanwhile, they quietly eat up hours of editorial time each week. Frankly, it’s become gruntwork—uncreative writing that doesn’t really add much additional value. By stepping away from the Wrap, we’re reclaiming that time for deeper, more original work: more essays, more writing, more conversations that matter. Less roundup, more substance.
You might notice fewer Saturday posts at first, and that’s okay. We’re not chasing volume—we’re aiming for value. Thanks for your patience and support as we reorient.
Like most of our readers, we prefer to remain unwrapped anyway. 🪐
Got thoughts on the end of the Wraps, or what you’d love to see more of going forward? Drop a comment—we’re all ears.
I liked the idea of collecting the week's item into a single email. I had just turned off everything else except for Weekly Wrap so I wouldn't have as many emails in my inbox.
I agree—a good call. I often scanned through, to make sure there wasn't a story I had missed, but I truly don't need them. If this frees you to have more time nude in nature, I'm for it!
