Help Planet Nude raise vital funds for the Fistula Foundation, and join us at Bates Beach on July 13th for a fun-filled skinny dip
Planet Nude is thrilled to invite you to a Skinny Dip at California’s Bates Beach on July 13th, 2024! We’re excited to collaborate with the Southern California Naturist Association (SCNA), who will be hosting this event. While we’re all about celebrating body freedom and enjoying a liberating day at the beach, our primary mission is to support the Fistula Foundation. We’d love for you to join us in person or donate online to help Team Planet Nude out-fundraise the rest in the SkinnyDipDay.org fundraiser. Your support will make a significant impact on women’s lives.
What’s this all about? Obstetric fistula is a devastating condition affecting millions of women worldwide, and we’re dedicated to raising awareness and funds to help provide life-changing surgeries for those in need.
Our initial fundraising goal is $2,000, but with the passion and generosity of our community, we hope to raise much more. By participating in this event, you’ll be part of a movement that champions body positivity and significantly impacts women’s health and dignity.
What is Skinny Dip Day?
Skinny Dip Day, celebrated annually on the second Saturday of July, promotes body positivity and the joy of naturism. It was officially designated as “International Skinny Dip Day” by the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) in 2018. The event encourages individuals to embrace their bodies and connect with their natural selves in a safe and accepting environment. SkinnyDipDay.org, founded by Thomas Francine in 2019, furthers this cause by organizing global skinny dipping events to raise funds for the Fistula Foundation, helping women suffering from obstetric fistula regain their health and dignity.
Why your support matters
Obstetric fistula is often caused by prolonged, obstructed labor without access to medical care, leaving women incontinent and isolated from their communities. The Fistula Foundation provides surgeries that restore their health and hope. With just $619, one woman can receive the surgery she needs. By reaching and exceeding our fundraising goal, we can transform multiple lives and show the world the power of our engaged, altruistic community.

2. Buy some Skinny Dip Day merch
We also created some custom merch to celebrate the event, in collab with artist
. Pick up a Skinny Dip T-shirt or a commemorative coffee mug in one of these designs from the Planet Nude Gift Shop, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Fistula Foundation. Plus, for each person I see wearing one of these shirts at Bates Beach, I’ll personally donate an extra $50! 🥰
3. Spread the word

4. Join our skinny dip at Bates Beach
Join us at Bates Beach on July 13th for a fun and meaningful event! Hosted by SCNA, this celebration is perfect for both longtime naturists and newcomers. Enjoy camaraderie while supporting a great cause.

Myself and a few other regular Planet Nude contributors will be hanging out there starting at noon and staying until we’re sunburnt enough to turn in. Come by and introduce yourself!
5. Can’t make it? Do it your way!
If you’re too far away and can’t make it to Bates Beach, but you plan on celebrating in your own way, snap a photo on Skinny Dip Day and send it to us! We’ll include it in our Team Planet Nude wrap-up post-event. Send a pic wearing a piece of our merch, and I’ll donate an extra $25!

As a community who inherently cares about ending body shame... we must be involved in this practical matter of ending such horrific body shame.
I'd love to be able to attend, but don't have a reliable car. If anyone will be driving down from the SF Bay Area, I'd really appreciate a lift. Would be willing to help out with gas and other expenses. If you're not familiar with me, I'm sure Evan would vouch for me. Obviously, sleeping accommodations would also need to be arranged.
