Last year we ran our first reader survey: 600+ of you answered 75 questions about how you practice naturism, what holds you back, and where you want this movement to go. It became some of the most useful reporting we did all year, and we vowed to make it an annual thing.
This year it’s back, and it’s not just for our readers anymore. Nobody actually knows the state of naturism right now. Formal club membership has been shrinking for years, while the number of people who consider themselves naturists looks larger than ever, and no one is tracking that gap consistently, movement-wide, over time. We’re calling this the Naturism Survey: a core set of questions, asked the same way every year, so the results actually mean something beyond a single snapshot.
That only works with a bigger, more varied sample than our own subscriber list, and that’s where we need help. If you run a club, sit on the board of an organization, or help moderate a beach or event group, please put this in front of your members: drop it in your newsletter, post it to your group’s page or chat, bring it up at your next meeting. If you’re just a reader, forward it to the naturists in your life who aren’t on Planet Nude: a friend from the club, a group chat, a local Facebook page. None of us gets a full picture of this movement alone. A club’s membership, a beach community, a Discord server, a Planet Nude subscriber list: each is one slice. Put them together and we start to see something closer to the whole.
This year also digs into last year’s biggest finding: the gap between people who say they’d defend nude beaches and the few who’ve ever actually contacted an official about one, with new sections on advocacy, visibility and photo-sharing, and how people actually find their way into naturism.
It’s anonymous. No email, no sign-in required. Only aggregate results get published, same as last year. But those aggregate results will be made available to all as valuable data—for free.
