Help JP Riley fight brain cancer
A beloved naturist filmmaker faces a life-threatening recurrence—here’s how to support him
Filmmaker and naturist advocate JP Riley is once again fighting for his life. The creator of Act Naturally and its long-awaited sequel Act Super Naturally is undergoing chemotherapy after the return of an aggressive brain tumor—a diagnosis he first shared publicly via Planet Nude earlier this year.
Riley was initially diagnosed with meningioma during the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike. After a complicated surgery and a five-month remission, a metastatic lesion has reappeared in the same location, marking a critical turn in his cancer journey. Doctors say his current treatment plan may offer just 2–3 more years without a second surgery—one that comes with a $160,000 copay and can only be performed by a small number of neurosurgeons worldwide.
A new GoFundMe launched by his friend Lisa Dawson is seeking to raise $165,000 to help cover surgery, treatment, rehabilitation, and living expenses during this critical time. So far, the campaign has only raised a fraction of what’s needed.
At 45, JP is a talented artist and musician, a devoted father and friend. For decades, he’s been a beloved figure in the Southern California naturist community, known for his warmth, wit, and commitment to creative work. Even while hospitalized, JP continued writing and making music, determined to see his projects through. Your support can make a real difference. 🪐
