Strong, strong, strong recommendation: Make it into corporation owned by membership. That prevents it from being sold to non-nudists or people looking for a quick profit. In Southern California we are losing resorts right and left. Each one was privately and membership had zero power to stop the sale of the property. Glen Eden Sun Club is one of the two nudist resorts left and GE is the only corporate resort left. We are growing, profits go back into the resort (new pools, Tennis (6) courts, pickleball courts (6), RC racecourse, disc golf course, basketball/volleyball court, full service sites, dry camp sites, etc.
Im in CT and go to Solair, it is a co-op. While the other resorts in New England are closing, Solair is growing, with old nudist from the closed resorts and new nudists in their 30s and 40s. Many of the members (owners) who own homes go back generations. There are 3rd and 4th gen nudists who are now raising their own children there, and hopefully, when they grow up, they will be members/owners too (if they wish, like religion and politics, parents can't force their own interests onto their children). Because of this, cabins, the clubhouse, and other areas always have work being done. I was just there this weekend, and I was talking to a man in his 30s who is a member there (he was there with his own child who was enjoying themselves, playing with the other children) and he told me how he did some work on the cabin in which I was staying, as his full-time gig is in construction. So, member-run co-ops are beneficial.
I love Serendipity! It was the first naturist resort I ever attended. Celebrated my 25th anniversary there. I hope it falls into good hands and continues the legacy!
Another Nudist club going on sale. Makes you wonder why no effort is made to attract the Younger generation or even LGBTQ folks. I hear nudist clubs and resorts are aging and not doing a damn thing about trying to attract the younger generation, LGBTQ folks, POC & BIPOC. As more clubs and resorts close and convert to textile, people will start to wonder what can be done to stop the tide. Clubs need to get their damn heads out of the sand and start looking for ways to attract younger people, LGBTQ folks, POC and BIPOC folks. The old ways of doing things is why clubs and resorts are closing and until people get their heads out of their asses. We're gonna see more clubs like this be put up for sale. The people who think the old ways still works are the ones who are be faced with closure. These people are why Nudist clubs are closing and why they are losing people. They need to start tapping into the younger generation, LGBTQ folks, POC and BIPOC folks. The younger generation hate clubs who segregate single people because most single people are younger generation, LGBTQ folks, POC and BIPOC folks.
LOL LGBTQ POC BIPOC has nothing to do with it. LOL I've seen old LGBT and POC folks at clubs, and young non LGBTQ POC folks at clubs. Yes, they need to find ways of attracting young people. And some are doing it. As I have been saying, Solair, where I go, is very successful at attracting young people from all walks of life, just not LGBT or POC people. And no, they don't target any group. They hardly do any social media or advertising. They do it simply by word of mouth and by planning events for people of all ages, which are listed on their website.
I was talking to a young person there just this past weekend. She is in her 30s. She is a member, along with her young family, and part of the board. She told me they don't need to advertise because people who are interested in nudism can Google and find them. You are not going to make any new nudists by advertising. You are already interested or not.
You are right; clubs do need to change, change by what they offer, up-to-date amenities and activities, and welcoming singles, Solair has always welcomed singles. But targeting a certain group is stupid and goes against the nudist message of that stuff does not matter.
Maybe Solair is the exception, as they have a lot of LGBTQ and POC folks young and old, but they don't try to "tap in to them" they just show up.
I would KILL for the capital to take this over 😡

I really hope Serindipity Park doesn't become a Swingers Club or a Textile Club.
