A thoughtful contribution as always. We have a hard time measuring up to our idealized versions of ourselves in all conceivable dimensions! Accepting ourselves as we are, with good grace and good humour, is not easy but is a starting point for an authentic and hopefully happier future!

Beautiful, Timothy. Really lovely and sincere.

If you're so inclined, you might like the audiobook "The Joyous Body" by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. (Note that it's not available as a print/digital book, and personally, I wouldn't want to miss the beauty in her voice while narrating it.)

She speaks of the body as a fellow traveller and consort. I like to think of it as a companion. There's me and my body - we are not the same, and yet, we are one. And perhaps, it's not about accepting this consort because that implies a judgement criteria of sorts, but instead it is getting to know this companion and to appreciate her for who she is. The body feels things before we do, is the conduit for all of our sensations and the miraculous ability to learn so many things, transferring them from voluntary to involuntary actions like riding a bike. I don't think when I'm riding a bike, my body /knows/, which is what makes WNBR such a nice complement.

Anyhow, if you feel like it, I think you might enjoy. Thank you for this contribution.
