I’d known about the Neo Naturists for a few years, but only in the abstract. I had a vague sense of their legacy as creative artists from the UK—a group of women engaging with body painting and feminist themes. I knew they were impactful in some way, but beyond that, I didn’t know much. Still, I always wanted to learn more, to have a reason to do a deep dive. Their name alone, the Neo Naturists, coupled with their work spanning various mediums—performance, public happenings—was enough to intrigue me. They just seemed cool. But researching them never made it to the top of my priorities, and so, for years, they sat on the back burner.
