Morley Schloss has been on my list of subjects to interview for Naked Age since the podcast’s inception in 2020. It took me three years to make contact with him, and when I finally reached him by phone in Spring 2023, two things became clear: First, he had many wonderful stories to tell, so our interview would likely take significantly longer than the average; and second, due to his not being much of a computer person, a typical Zoom interview was not a viable option for this discussion. Morley was generous and witty and more than happy to speak with me, but he basically informed me in a roundabout way that I was going to have to travel to Florida to make this interview work.

For months, I tried to plan a Florida trip, but due to my heavy involvement in Florida nudism as a volunteer for groups like the American Association for Nude Recreation, the American Nudist Research Library in Kissimmee, and the BEACHES Foundation Institute based in Miami, this was going to have to be a multifaceted business trip with several stops. Due to the associated expenses and requisite time commitments, this trip quickly became unwieldy, and it eventually became apparent that it was not likely to happen any time soon.

There went that idea.

Then, one day in early January of this year, I woke up very early one morning feeling dispirited by the likelihood that my meeting with Morley would never occur under the current circumstances. I opened Twitter and posted a somewhat desperate tweet:
