I want to SCREAM, CRY and CURSE at hearing that another one of our beautiful and precious naturist resorts. Is it 5 California resorts in about 5 months?

My heart is aching.

I had the opportunity to visit the resort twice when it was called Desert Shadows and was a Naturist Society sponsored or sanctioned property. It was beautiful then and growing in popularity. So over the years and new owners, I understand it became even more beautiful.

It’s past time to rethink the business model for where these clothing-optional and nudist communities should go and how to market them.

It seems to me that the owners who have just made more money than they ever imagined by selling out to the textile business sector, they will have a huge tax liability unless a significant portion of their capital gains are reinvested. If these sales were a swap into another income producing property of a equal or higher value, it would be a 1031 Tax-free Exchange.

It’s time for these newly retired club and resort millionaire owners to pool their financial resources and buy and/or build where their natural market of concentrated naturist can be found -- at our clothing-optional beaches. Just saying.
