I read through this interview expecting to learn about the current presidentβs accomplishments. I donβt see any. Instead, I read statements like βIf you ask our members, they sometimes canβt even describe what the organization stands for. This is a failing on our part for not educating both members and non-members alike about what AANR does as well as creating a modernized Mission Statement.β Isnβt that your role, Ms. Weber? Leaders educate. If, in two years, you continue to refer to this as an unaccomplished goal, then you failed.
You characterized the Board of Trustees and AANR as suffering from the Einstellung effect, thereby accusing the trustees of obstinacy and unwavering adherence to old ways. But progress across generations comes from providing clear, concise examples of how a new procedure, outreach, or technology will help. Again, that is your job, and if it is not accomplished, you have failed.
There is much more to discuss here, but I will end with membership. You list dual membership discounts and auto-renewal as accomplished goals to gain members. Those are not goals. They are conveniences. I see nothing of value for a member other than the stated legal protections, which are invaluable. I see nothing to entice new members or to keep existing ones.
Having read these answers, I understand why many of my friends are disillusioned with AANR and will not renew their membership. It is also why many others, including me, have no desire to join. When current members choose to leave and others see nothing of value offered to join, you have failed.
As Linda mentioned, it is hard to move forward when people donβt want to change. That is not her fault and it doesnβt mean that she has failed. π
Iβm praying ππΌ that the election brings in people who are willing to bring this organization into the 21st century along with getting an active social media presence. π» π±
We do need a paid and experienced social media youngin! Social media is where people get information and are active and connected! Youngins use TikTok as their search engine π and itβs where they get information. Many, if not most of us, found Linda on social media so letβs get busy influencing the Xennials (1977-1983 young Generation X + older Millennials) and younger.

The fundamental issue for AANR is whether it views social nudism as primarily a recreational activity or as Stephane Deschenes maintains, a social movement. A social movement requires everything AANR does but more and better. The Ambassadors program and Speaker's Bureau address this. I think Linda gets this. I am supporting her for another two year term.
Great interview. The Einstellung Effect Linda mentions is real; we often get stuck in old patterns.
In my drawings, I strive to break those patterns by showing the raw, unmediated presence of the body, the same authenticity AANR works to protect.
To grow, we must embrace new ways of showing the world that being nude is the most honest way to live. Art and advocacy must walk hand in hand.

After much consideration, I have cast my vote to re-elect Linda.
