Neil Strahl is a comedy writer whose work has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and Late Night with David Letterman. He’s also written for syndicated comic strips like The Grizzwells and Frank and Ernest.

Boris Grann is a Danish cartoonist trained at the Royal Swedish Art Academy. Known for his work in Swedish underground magazines, he also creates paintings, sculptures, music, and ceramics.

Strips One-Shots is Planet Nude Strips’ banner for stand-alone comics. It’s where we publish single pieces that don’t belong to an ongoing series, giving artists the freedom to drop in a one-off gag or idea without needing a regular commitment.

An easy one this time: Only one character and a static background. I see a lot of potential in Diluvia as a character and so I want to keep her in reserve for when I need her, so to speak.

Greyfriar’s Isle is a comic about an island and the people who live there. A small family runs Marsh Light, a naturist campsite connected to the beach where locals and tourists spend their vacation time. The island is historically friendly to naturism, but not universally so. Also, there are ghosts and strange, eldritch island customs.

Greyfriar’s Isle is inspired by the comics I read in my youth, by the real-world island experiences I had in my youth, my ideas about what naturism should be and the stories naturists tell each other about themselves.

Panel 1. Ernst: Er… sure. As you were. Just make sure this place is clean by the time the baker arrives tomorrow. Chuck: Er… Ernst: Yes, I'll get you one on the house. Panel 2. Everyone is drunkenly cleaning up. Cynthia: So where were you guys staying? Gail: Er, this whole thing was supposed to be a stealth thing. We thought we were going to take the next ferry home. Panel 3. Oozer turns around with a broom in his hand, knocking over a glass. SFX: Crash! Oozer: But I think we need to sober up first. Do you guys have a place we can crash? Panel 4. Outside. Cass is showing a cabin. Cass: Guests just checked out. It's normally single-family but we can turn a blind eye for one night. Panel 5. Settling down, Gail turns towards Filth. Gail: How are you doing, buddy? Filth: What? Oh. I'm fine. Panel 6. Filth, in bed, thinking. Filth: Yeah, I'm all right.

This is the end of the storyline proper! But, er, there'll be an epilogue, and maybe a second epilogue and/or post-credits scene. I'm still dealing with delays in producing these comics, but it's not for lack of ideas.

Diary of the Astro-Nudes

Inspired by 1960s nudist camp films like “Diary of a Nudist,” and sci-fi shows such as “My Favourite Martian,” Diary of the Astro-Nudes is the story of Ar and Arreya, two inter-dimensional explorers who come from a parallel Earth where clothes don’t exist. They crash-land into an Earth very much like ours circa 1950s, and, living there with a couple named Brad and Janet while they try to fix their ship, they examine our attitudes towards nudity and the human body.

Nudie Shack

Nudie Shack is a cartoon series by humorist Jerry King, set in a delightfully unhinged nudist resort where the only thing looser than the dress code is the punchline. Known for his prolific work with Playboy and other major publications, King brings his decades of cartooning chops to the naturist world, populating it with oddballs, eccentrics, and sun-loving weirdos who always find new ways to bare it all—sometimes literally, sometimes emotionally, and usually for a laugh.

Nudie Shack appears on the 4th Friday of every month at Planet Nude.
